It's not just significant moves in the men's game going on today. We've also got deals rumbling away on the women's side too.

The big one we've keeping eyes on today is the potential world-record deal for Alessia Russo to join Arsenal from Manchester United.

    So what's the latest?

  3. State of playpublished at 14:01 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2023

    Right, where are we at?

Well, the good news is that if you're just clocking in now, you've missed nothing.

The three incomings to Premier League clubs so far have all pretty low key - Diogo Monteiro to Leeds, Harrison Ashby to Newcastle and Jude Soonsup-Bell to Tottenham.

Thankfully, there's plenty brewing, so we could see things take a turn for the exciting soon. There's action at Chelsea, including a potential record deal for Enzo Fernandez, moves going on in north London and whispers of activity at Manchester United.

  4. Wigan sign Arsenal defenderpublished at 13:59 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2023

Arsenal agree deal for Jorginho - your reactionpublished at 13:56 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2023

Text 81111 (UK only - standard message rates apply)

Jorginho is not an exciting signing but I can live with an 18 month deal, not a 3 year one like Willian. Ultimately we just need him to start out Europa League games and cover for Partey and Xhaka in the league in emergencies. We have shown that we have big money to spend on at least one if not two exciting midfield signings in the summer so I can live with that for now. If we win the league it will all be fine, so we should just do that now.

  6. What's deadline day like for an agent?published at 13:53 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2023

    BBC World Service

FA Licensed Intermediary (and Championship Manager legend) Cherno Samba has given an insight into what deadline day is like for an agent...

"When it comes to deadline day one thing I'd say is there's no logic in football, there's no planning or anything in place , you just have to ride with things. You can have a flight booked to go to one place abroad but then you're cancelling it to go somewhere else.

"We have been working on a couple of moves today, hopefully we can close them as quickly as possible but you never know, it can go down to the wire.

"It can be stressful at times but with me I always approach it with a calm approach. You have to be there for your players, if you're panicking and stressing what's that saying to your players?

"So you've got to make sure the player comes first, that they're well looked after and well informed as well because everyone wants an update, so you have to control the situation."

Mark: Arsenal are welcome to Jorginho. A fantastic player when you need to close out a game but single handedly prone to sucking the attacking invention and flair out of a side with endless backward and sideways passes.

Sean: So happy to see Jorginho go finally. The guy offered very little offensively or defensively and was nearly always a passenger in big games. Penalties was all he had.

Don't understand my fellow Arsenal fans feeling towards Jorginho signing. Proven winner, cheap in todays market and is a squad player. Shrewd business if you ask me.

J: Conor Gallagher to Man Utd on a loan deal perhaps? United look lightweight after the Eriksen injury and relying on McFred.

Craig: With Martial struggling, I don't see why Man United don't take a risk with Coventry City forward Viktor Gyokeres & with Eriksen's injury, why not go for Sheffield United midfielder Sander Berge?

Matt: Gallagher to replace Eriksen? Seems like a decent move for both parties.

Graymanuk: Sad to see Joao Cancelo move on - he adds something different to Manchester City and can play left/right. Rico Lewis is promising but still too raw for big games. At least we didn't loan Cancelo to Arsenal! Now need Silva to stay.

Mike: Some players simply want to be at the big global clubs with history. Man City is an attractive club for wages and silverware, but is still nowhere near the clubs of Bayern Munich's stature. Completely understand Cancelo wanting out.
