    Morton 1-0 Dundee

Paul McMullan, so often a threat at this level with his direct running and low centre of gravity, has been withdrawn by Gary Bowyer.

He's looking for a spark from somewhere. Can replacement Luke Hannant provide it?

    Morton 1-0 Dundee

Just imagine the levels of chaos this game would have reached if Morton's usual left-back Lewis Strapp, who surely has the most dangerous long throw in the SPFL, was fit enough to feature.

The sight of it has become a true Cappielow classic in recent years.

Jordan McGhee loves a goal in front of the the BBC cameras, and that would might have been the best of the bench had it gone in.

He winds up for the volley on the edge of the box, watching the ball drop all the way, but his effort soars just over the bar.

Curtains for Jai Quitongo, who pulls up unchallenged and has to exit the stage. Ally Roy is the man tasked with replacing the lively forward.

Just how big a blow could that be for the hosts?

Aye, this half is going to be just as mental then.

An all-mighty stramash in the box sees Jai Quitongo crack one off the bar, before Darragh O'Connor sends a fizzing follow-up, which Adam Legzdins does tremendously well to bat away.

    Strap in!

    Connor Shields

This man loves a Championship goal.

The on-loan Motherwell striker turns and slots beyond Jamie Macdonald, opening up a four point lead between Queen's and Dundee as it stands.

Mind, the Dee do still have a game in hand, but it would put the title race back in The Spiders' hands. All eight of them?

  8. KICK-OFFpublished at 46 mins

    Morton 1-0 Dundee

Well, I did say we'd be seeing Zach Robinson pretty soon. On the in-form striker comes, alongside Rangers loanee Ben Williamson. It's Barry Maguire and Alex Jakubiak to depart.

Will the second period be as frantic as the first? Fingers crossed.

Reckon there is going to be a double change for Dundee at the break... Gary Bowyer hoping the tactics of Sunday against Cove prove fruitful again.

Zach Robinson and Ben Williamson appear to be waiting in the wings...

    Back at it in Stenhousemuir.

A win would ensure Queen's Park stay top of the tree tonight.

  11. Will Robinson run riot?published at 20:47 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2023

    Morton v Dundee (19:45)

You have to wonder how long Gary Bowyer waits before bringing on this man.

At just 22-years-old, having made just 22 appearances this season, Zach Robinson already has nine goals and three assists in all competitions - roughly working out at a goal involvement every 80 minutes. No bad.

There was a huge sigh of relief for the dark blue side of the city of discovery when he made a deadline day return to The Dee after an early recall from parent club AFC Wimbledon had fans hitting panic stations.

His manager says there's more to come from the striker. Will we see that in action at Cappielow in the second half?

Ach, the Championship never disappoints, does it?

All you who feared a stalemate given the previous goalless encounters have been treated very well tonight.

You've been warned, though. If there is a rapid start to the second half, don't be unprepared... On that note, I'm away for my cuppa and a bit of warmth right now.

It was a really competitive half. Two sides that are desperate to win the game.

Morton look really organised and aggressive. I think they'll be more pleased at half-time, along with the scoreline.

  15. HALF-TIME Morton 1-0 Dundeepublished at 20:35 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2023

Despite there only being one goal, I think we're all due a wee snooze after a frenetic first half.

Jack Baird headed home his second in two games inside six minutes, making the most of Morton's quick start.

Dundee have shown their spirit to fight back in the game, but as it stands, they'll lose ground on the league leaders Queen's Park for the time being.

The Championship at its engrossing best so far.

Lewis McGrattan goes into the book for a crunching challenge.

Both sides know how big this one could be for their seasons.

  17. HALF-TIME Queen's Park 0-0 Raith Roverspublished at 20:33 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2023

Not much to report from Ochilview as the sides go in level.

Queen's Park will be fairly content with how things stand at the moment.

  18. Postpublished at 43 mins

    Morton 1-0 Dundee

Dundee certainly growing into this one.

We're seeing more of their attacking threats, and they no longer look as spooked as they did by Morton's sheer velocity in the early stages.

Can they grab a leveller before the break?

  19. Postpublished at 39 mins

    Morton 1-0 Dundee

Tough couple of minutes for Lyall Cameron.

Clattered by Blues, then misses a sitter. To be fair, it's a good save from Legzdins, but the Dee midfielder has to be doing better there when it comes back to him.

    Morton 1-0 Dundee

I think Cammy Blues is lucky to not see yellow there. It's a late diving challenge on Lyall Cameron.

Maybe the ref is feeling nice since it's his 100th appearance?
