That's all from us for this evening.

We'll continue those and more at the weekend. Night.

  3. 'We had to score more'published at 22:58 British Summer Time 27 April 2023

    FT: Tottenham 2-2 Man Utd

    Manchester United

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "Yes definitely although, my opinion was that we didn't play that well. We were not clinical enough but we scored two times and then you have to finish the game."

On missed chances: Of course [Fernandes hitting the bar was frustrating], but don't blame it one one player. We weren't clinical enough and I think we had to score more. The goals we conceded were too easy and we could have avoided them."

Disappointed with a draw? "We came here, as every game, we come to win. It was clear how they managed the game and we wanted to win, which we didn't. Before I think a draw was ok but when you see this game you have to get over the line."

Reflecting on the last two games: "Yes, if we win on Sunday, yeah that will be a great week but first we have to get there and we need all the energy. Recover, get ready for the game, get the focus and go again."

  4. 'We could see it coming'published at 22:56 British Summer Time 27 April 2023

    FT: Tottenham 2-2 Man Utd

    Manchester United

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag speaking to BT Sport: "Of course when you are 2-0 up then you are a little bit disappointed when you draw. That's quite obvious. We had the chances after the 2-1 to score the 3-1 ands we didn't and we concede the goal. I think in this week 2-2 is a good draw.

"We had to score a second goal but to be honest they could have got the equaliser just before half time, just before we scored. I don't think we were that good across the 90 minutes. After half-time we had to score another goal."

Substitutions altered the game: "[We were] the same after half-time, it was the same as before half-time and we lose control. We concede the goal and we could see it coming and the subs were too later."

Next steps: "Manage the game, keep the ball. We give so much easy goals away. With the goals it was quite obvious they got across us. We have to proactive there with the second ball and we didn't squeeze out and it was too easy to score a goal then."

Looking ahead to the weekend: "It's another game and we need energy and we have to be ready for Sunday."

  5. 'I have a team that's willing to fight'published at 22:55 British Summer Time 27 April 2023

    FT: Tottenham 2-2 Man Utd

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham caretaker manager Ryan Mason speaking to BT Sport:

"[I am] Pleased with the reaction and I thought in the second half we were outstanding and the character we showed after last Sunday and going two goals down [tonight]. I hope the fans can see that we were a team today and we ran for each other. In the second half we could have scored a lot more.

"They caused us problems and we caused them a lot of problems to. Sometimes moments change games. I think after they went one goals ahead some doubts may have been in the players' minds. We played a lot of the game in their end of the pitch so that's pleasing.

"Those players in there, I know I've got man who when they pull together they're a very strong team. that's my job to inspire them and make sure we act as a team.

On the support of the crowd: "I know what it's like when we get the fans with us. That goes without saying. I was pleased with the energy in the stadium as I felt they were with us and that's very pleasing."

What is key? "Most importantly being together and being a team. In football you can win lose or draw but the most important is that we react together. I have a team that's willing to fight."

  6. 'We took our foot off the gas'published at 22:52 British Summer Time 27 April 2023

    FT: Tottenham 2-2 Man Utd

    Manchester United

Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen speaking to BT Sport: "Yeah I think we missed the last percentage of really taking the game and finishing it off.

"I think we took a bit of the gas off and that was our problem. I think it's been that for a few games where we are sharp and coming ahead and [haven't] kept it going. I think we lost a bit of energy, a bit of control and they got belief and it went the other way."

On Spurs coming back into it: "That's how it goes normally. When you are 2-0 down anything can change quickly. We didn't have the control to finish them off and don't give them the chance to score the first goal, that gave belief."

Top-four race: "There's still a few games to go. We need to keep going and get the belief back to finish it off. We need to get it over the line."

  7. 'We were really angry' - Sonpublished at 22:50 British Summer Time 27 April 2023

    FT: Tottenham 2-2 Man Utd

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham forward Son Heung-min, who scored Spurs' second goal, speaking to BT Sport:

"I thought we didn't deserve to be 2-0 down in the first half. We played quite well, we had the chances to score but we weren't clinical enough.

"I think in the second half we showed great character, but we're not happy we didn't get three points. The final decision making wasn't perfect.

"We didn't want to let the fans down, we wanted to give everything and that was the dressing room speech. We couldn't let the game go. We were really angry about it, we didn't deserve to be 2-0 down at half-time. I think the lads showed really good character.

"Football is all about the fans. The last week was unacceptable and we didn't want to repeat that. We feel really, really sorry for the performance and result [at Newcastle] and today we wanted to bring a good energy. With them, we really appreciated their support. They were fighting with us."

  9. 'No celebrations - 36 points could go down'published at 22:45 British Summer Time 27 April 2023

    FT: Southampton 0-1 Bournemouth

    Bournemouth

Bournemouth manager Gary O'Neil, speaking to BT Sport: "I could see 36 points still going down so where we are at the moment could end up going down. There are no celebrations in there. Sunday is going to come quickly and we need to be ready.

"Let's try and win the next five then I'm sure we'll be OK."

Nav: Passive play from Man U and no urgency all game. Spurs deserve this draw.

James: Without Eriksen on the pitch the plan seems to be to run at Spurs defenders and fall over. He was tearing holes in them.

Andrew: Great night for Leeds, with Everton and Southampton losing.

Matt: Man U love giving away a two-goal lead don’t they?

  11. 'We were dominant throughout'published at 22:41 British Summer Time 27 April 2023

    FT: Southampton 0-1 Bournemouth

    Bournemouth

Bournemouth manager Gary O'Neil, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "I thought we were excellent, I thought we were by far the better side and I was disappointed we had to hang on at the end because we'd only scored one.

"We were pretty dominant throughout and then of course there is going to be some desperation from Southampton at the end with the situation they're in. It gets a bit messy and we get a VAR check go our way which was a surprise - we haven't had too much.

"It was nice to get three points in what was a huge game. The lads thoroughly deserved it, we should have been more clinical and we had to show some resilience at the end against a team that was throwing everything forward at the end, including the goalkeeper. It was a good win.

On creating chances: "We arrived in the penalty area so many times and perhaps had too many touches or just missing the last pass, not arriving at the right time.

"In the bigger picture, work to be done on that but the way that we played through Southampton, understood how they were pressing and caused them real problems - proud of the played and the way they played. Delighted with the win."

On Marcus Tavernier injury: "He felt his hamstring. No idea how serious. That was the only downside, maybe losing Tav for the weekend but we'll check him and hopefully it was just a touch of cramp at the end."

On importance of the win: "They always do feel significant. After Tottenham and Liverpool people were telling me how significant those wins were.

"There are a lot of points still to play for, we're not going to settle on 36. We have to keep pushing and get as many as we can to hopefully secure safety as early as possible."

  12. 'Not good enough'published at 22:36 British Summer Time 27 April 2023

    FT: Southampton 0-1 Bournemouth

    Southampton

Southampton manager Ruben Selles to BT Sport: "I don't think we were good enough. Until we conceded the goal we weren't in the game and a lot of decisions didn't go with us. It was not good enough."

On following the Arsenal draw: "We did not get the sensation and we lose the pace and the sensation of being high pressure, and we didn't get that back."

On Ward-Prowse substitution: He had bad night, he has a cough and it was some problems with the chest so he played, but with the rain and the weather it was too much for him so we took him out."

On the relegation battle: "It is getting harder and we just need to keep fighting and try to win. We have a game in three days and we have to recover quick. We need to be more robust in what we do."

  13. 'The challenge remains the same'published at 22:33 British Summer Time 27 April 2023

    FT: Everton 1-4 Newcastle

    Everton

Everton boss Sean Dyche, speaking to BBC Sport: "We were excellent first half in the sense of taking on the game. The final moment has been a challenge all season and we conceded a soft goal.

"The game changed on their second goal and that is what we have to change. 2-0 is difficult but you are still in it and our reaction to that was so soft.

"I reminded the players, they had done a great job there. The journey is there, to change the feeling around. The fans have been brilliant. I'd take a large part of the first half performance but when the second goal went in I can't take that sort of performance. The basics went out of the window.

"They have spent well, we know that but they have created an atmosphere around what they do.

"It feels like it did when I got here. It feels the same. It is the reality of the challenge when I took over, it is still there and we have to correct it.

"It is about us, we have to correct the mistakes we have made in the last few weeks. We can all talk the talk but it is about walking the walk.

"The fans have been terrific. Our performances are nothing to do with them it is to do with us and that is what we have to correct."

  15. 'The margin for error keeps getting smaller'published at 22:25 British Summer Time 27 April 2023

    FT: Southampton 0-1 Bournemouth

    Southampton

Southampton manager Ruben Selles speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "I still think we can perform much better than we did today. It is small margins. It is offside situations. Everything that can go to the other side when to the other side today and hard one to take.

"I think we started well during the first minutes. We want to be intense, apply pressure ad be vertical but we dropped a little bit in intensity. We needed to change shape and we were not back in the game until we conceded. We didn't see the team we wanted to see and that's not good enough."

Belief or quality? "We created chances, we even scored and it was offside. It's not about belief, It is about creating the goals and we didn't do that enough."

Is the fight there? "Absolutely. We showed we can perform against anybody. In the last games it's small margins that keep us out of winning. The margin keeps getting smaller and smaller. We have game in three days and we need to be ready for it."

  16. 'The defence give me freedom to attack'published at 22:22 British Summer Time 27 April 2023

    FT: Southampton 0-1 Bournemouth

    Bournemouth

Bournemouth goalscorer Marcus Tavernier speaking to BT Sport: "We know it's a big three points for us and that's what we want to do. Every point matters and happy to get the three and move up the table, yeah definitely.

"We knew coming back from the international break we had to do it [improve] and that's what we have done. I think it's just the manager drilling into us to play a certain way. You see that in how we play and the defence keeping clean sheets gives us attackers freedom to go and make things happen."

  17. Top four 'getting closer'published at 22:19 British Summer Time 27 April 2023

    FT: Everton 1-4 Newcastle

    Newcastle United

Newcastle's Callum Wilson, speaking to BT Sport: "I have a good record against these!

"Isak is a top player, you want to play with good players all the time. Unfortunately we play the same position a lot of the time but it is a good partnership and hopefully we get more minutes together."

On the top four: "It is getting closer. The games are running out and we are picking up points so we are going in the right direction."

  18. 'We bounced back today'published at 22:16 British Summer Time 27 April 2023

    FT: Southampton 0-1 Bournemouth

    Bournemouth

Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke speaking to BT Sport: "I think we've been on a great run recently. Last week wasn't a great game and we wanted to bounce back and that's what we did.

"The results we have got recently we have the right to be confident. Last game we let our standards slip but we knew we would put it right and that's exactly what we did.

On the late disallowed Southampton goal: "Crazy moment but I was praying it would be offside. I haven't seen it but it must have been tight. Luckily, we got one in our favour."

Leeds up next: "We'll rest and recover and focus on the next game."

  19. 'We went under too easily after the second goal'published at 22:14 British Summer Time 27 April 2023

    FT: Everton 1-4 Newcastle

    Everton

Everton boss Sean Dyche, speaking to BT Sport: "We took the game on and I thought in the first half we had been as strong as we have been.

"We went under too easily after the second goal. You can't against good sides like Newcastle.

"I thought it was a very strong first half performance. We kept them to not many chances but they are a good outfit and they kept going and got a second goal and the reaction to that was not good enough.

"We are not finding the big moments in the final third. It is still a work in progress. Wilson whacks one in the corner, no thought, they are just playing with freedom and we need to find that freedom.

"We have to park this one quickly and clear our minds going into the next one."

  20. 'We showed what we are capable of'published at 22:12 British Summer Time 27 April 2023

    FT: Everton 1-4 Newcastle

    Newcastle United

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe, speaking to BBC Sport: "A return to goalscoring ways in the last couple of games which is great to see.

"First half was not perfect but second half was very good, we scored some very good goals.

"We knew there would be an aerial challenge for us and I felt we dealt with that very well.

"Second half we really put our foot to the floor and showed what we are capable of.

"It is great to see. Callum was excellent today. The second goal was spectacular. It was great to Alex come on and do well as well."

On Isak's bit of skill for the fourth goal: "I couldn't really see what was happening! I have seen it back on the telly and the amount of turns and twists and stepovers he did, an incredible piece of skill. He has incredible ball manipulation."

Top four pretty much there? "I think it is just a case of onto the next game. The end table will tell us where we are and what we have next season but for now we are just focusing on the next game.

"We have returned to form in a really good way."
