This doesn't feel like a ground full of fans who still believe their side can get anything from this game, let alone stay up.

It's been a really measured, controlled and confident performance from Bournemouth and for Southampton the problems seem to keep mounting up because it seems they lost James Ward-Prowse at half-time, we think to injury.

It's turning into a very desperate night for Southampton.

Bournemouth will be seven points clear of the bottom three if they see this out. That's surely safe. What a superb job Gary O'Neil has done at that club.

Well that's pretty much it for Southampton now. All season long they've dithered and been totally lacklustre. Terribly poor management, clueless poor decision making and are now paying the price. The "boos" will begin to ring out now because they are not only down but possibly done for three seasons. I mean let's face it, no one is going to want to go there!

Here's how it currently looks at the bottom of the table with Bournemouth moving out of the bottom six as things stand and out of the relegation picture.

Everton will remain two points adrift if they fail to get something against Newcastle.

Duje Caleta-Car scored against Arsenal in Saints' last game, but he is nowhere near with this effort.

A cross from the right runs to him outside the box and he flashes an ambitious shot high and wide.
