    Middlesbrough v Burnley (20:00 BST)

Vincent Kompany has certainly done an incredible job during his time as Burnley manager, putting together one of the most formidable squads the Championship has ever seen.

In fact their most recent league defeat this term was against Sheffield United...in November.

Remarkably, that's before the World Cup break. What's even more impressive is how the Clarets have won six of their eight away games in the Championship since that point.

And they have only conceded three goals in that time. This is bound to be a corker.

We know that Burnley need a win to seal promotion, but what of Middlesbrough's form at home?

Well, under Michael Carrick, Boro have been transformed into promotion contenders.

And the Clarets travel to the Riverside to face a Middlesbrough side who have won eight of their previous nine league games on home ground.

Not only that but they've scored at least three goals on five of those occasions.

This will be no easy task for the visitors.

Vincent Kompany says the pain of relegation is helping to drive Burnley over the Championship promotion finish line.

The Clarets dropped out of the Premier League last May and Kompany was brought in to overhaul the club.

He has been a spectacular success as manager, with Burnley on the brink of an automatic return.

"They still live with not only wanting to perform and win, but to prove [they are good enough]," he told BBC Radio Lancashire.

"That still lives in the building, it's not a pain we try to turn a blind eye to, it's a type of pain we try to use to our advantage because it pushes you the extra yard.

"No doubt every single game they play they are wanting to show they belong in the higher division, and that approach helps us as well."

If you're just joining us, firstly, where have you been? Secondly, don't worry, we've got you covered.

As things stand, Burnley will make an immediate return to the Premier League if they beat Middlesbrough this evening.

Anything else and Vincent Kompany's side will have to wait until Monday's visit of Sheffield United for another shot at mathematically sealing promotion.

    Thank you Andrew.

A big game that the whole day has built up to? Where both sides have impressive records and plenty to play for in their promotion aspirations?

Let's hope this hasn't got edgy goalless draw all over it. I want another eight-goal thriller please and thank you.

    Kick-off's on its way.

What we have witnessed at the Stadium of Light was a feast of football, but the day's main game is still to come.

We now turn our attention to the Riverside, where victory for Burnley against Middlesbrough will seal their promotion to the Premier League.

Taking you through that game will be Jay Freeman.

    FT: Sunderland 4-4 Hull

And what does it all mean in the race for the play-offs?

Well, Sunderland had been just seconds away from closing the gap to the top six to four points. Instead they are six points adrift with six games remaining.

For Hull, it leaves them 17th in the table and has everyone catching their breath.

    FT: Sunderland 4-4 Hull

A recap is very much needed after more than 100 minutes of twists, turns and unbridled entertainment.

Ozan Tufan opened the scoring early on with a fierce finish, then two goals in two minutes put Sunderland ahead.

A goal from Allahyar Sayyadmanesh less than three minutes later made it 2-2 at the break.

Regan Slater restored Hull's lead after making the most of some sloppy defending, but an Amad Diallo penalty - for his second goal of the day - made it 3-3 after 73 minutes.

Jack Clarke, who set two goals up, then put Sunderland 4-3 ahead in the 81st minute.

And still, there was plenty of time for Hull to rescue a point as Tufan sored a penalty with the last kick of the game.

It's the last kick of the game and Ozan Tufan buries his penalty to rescue a point for Hull City at Sunderland.

    INCREDIBLE.

  11. PENALTYpublished at 90+5 mins

    Sunderland 4-3 Hull

Sunderland fail to properly clear a long throw into the box and after the ball is worked back into the area, Regan Slater is caught by the boot of Pierre Ekwah and goes down.

    Sunderland 4-3 Hull

We are into the final minute of the five added on.

It's a big 60 seconds that Sunderland needs to hang on for if they are to close the gap to the play-off places.

    Sunderland 4-3 Hull

For a second it looked like Sunderland boss Tony Mowbray was smiling on the touchline.

He certainly will be in a few minutes if they hang on to win, but I'm not sure he is getting ahead of himself.

  14. INJURY TIMEpublished at 90+1 mins

    Sunderland 4-3 Hull

The fourth official has signalled that there will be five minutes of injury time to play.

In terms of this game, that would be enough for three goals. Honesty.

  15. Postpublished at 89 mins

    Sunderland 4-3 Hull

As it stands (and I stress that point in what has been an utterly unpredictable match), Sunderland are heading up to 10th place and to within four points of the play-off spots.

  16. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 87 mins

    Sunderland 4-3 Hull

Hull with some late changes as they try to rescue something from this game now.

Malcolm Ebiowei comes on for Allahyar Sayyadmanesh, while Jean Michael Seri makes way for Ryan Longman.

Just over three minutes of this Stadium of Light-special remains.

  17. Postpublished at 85 mins

    Sunderland 4-3 Hull

Jack Clarke could have and maybe should have had a second to put Sunderland 5-3 up.

An excellent pass from Amad Diallo set him up, but the finish was wild.

  18. Postpublished at 83 mins

    Sunderland 4-3 Hull

Jack Clarke will deservedly get praise for his finish, but the way Sunderland clinically broke on the counter through Amad Diallo and Patrick Roberts was a thing to behold.

After setting the first two Sunderland goals up, Jack Clarke caps a stunning attacking performance with a goal.

He runs into space to meet a Patrick Roberts pass on the left side of the area, and beats Karl Darlow at his near post.

  20. GREAT SAVE!published at 79 mins

    Sunderland 3-3 Hull

Now it's Karl Darlow who comes up with a huge save.

He is going the wrong way when the ball is worked across goal, but is able to adjust his body to get down to keep Trai Hume out.
