Tyrhys Dolan whacks over the top after a laboured build-up around the box by Blackburn and the crowd begins to jeer, whistle and groan.

It looked like Dolan should have shot but tried to tee up Lewis Travis, then he and Tyler Morton end up passing back to the winger to shoot.

Lovely build-up for Rovers. Joe Rankin-Costello tosses a ball up to Sam Gallagher who smartly heads down and Lewis Travis whistles a pass out to Ben Brereton Diaz on the left side of the box.

The Chile international gets it out of his feet and thrashes a wild effort which ends up veering away for a throw.

Less said about that the better.

Harry Vaughan cuts in off the left, using the onrushing Callum Elder as a decoy, but a loose touch hands the ball back to Blackburn.

Jean Michael Seri picks off a Rovers attack and they break.

Sayyadmanesh holds up on the left, cuts in and tees up Adama Traore, but his vicious curling effort zings wide.

Blackburn have been sloppy in possession at times, and Hull are profiting from it.

Another attack down the middle almost released an attack but Blackburn's defensive unit stepped up to bring about an offside.

In reply, Ben Brereton Diaz tries to roll Tyrhys Dolan in but it's cleared.

Sam Szmodics seeks a cross, but it's cleared. Better passage for Rovers. Sam Gallagher chests down a cross but Harry Vaughan hooks clear for Hull.

Hull press through Harry Vaughan, who powers to the edge of the box before slipping a pass to Adama Traore, whose shot is deflected behind.

From the corner, Ozan Tufan and Harry Pickering get a word from referee John Busby before it's curled in.

Jacob Greaves loops a header which is punched away, and eventually Blackburn clear.

Jean Michael Seri arcs his free-kick over the wall and just over the bar from the edge of the Blackburn penalty area.

Fine effort but Aynsley Pears watched it all the way.

Hull were much improved second-half against Millwall on Monday and have followed suit here.

Hayden Carter's first touch is awful from a routine pass at the back and Hull sweep in through Ozan Tufan.

Tufan is away but Carter clips him. Booking. Tricky free-kick now for Rovers to defend on the edge of the box.

Harry Pickering just got completely out-muscled and Allahyar Sayyadmanesh if he had a little more composure instead of snatching at it, it might have opened up the scoring for Hull.

He just pulled it wide of Aynsley Pears' post.

Hull get in on the right as two Blackburn players collide in clearing, and the ball loops up to Sayyadmanesh to drive forward.

The Iran winger crossed it agonisingly across the box with it just bobbling across in front of Ozan Tufan.

Blackburn clear, it's won back, and as the ball is played into the box, Sayyadmanesh shrugs off the Rovers defence and just puts his shot wide of the far corner.

Midfield in this game is hurly-burly to say the least, with no time afforded either side's playmakers.

Tackles flying and passes going awry.

No wonder some of the joy for both teams has come on the fringes.

Callum Elder gallops down the left for Hull and bangs in a cross, but it's an easy claim under zero pressure for Aynsley Pears.

Hull clump it long up to Sayyadmanesh, but his chest back is intercepted.

Blackburn also seek a ball into the channels looking for Sam Gallagher, but he's swamped, and Hull win it back.

Just looking for some incision here, from either side.

Regan Slater plays a one-two with Adama Traore practically off the kick-off for Hull and powers into the box, but flashes his shot wide of Aynsley Pears' goal.

Slater had a fine chance first-half, but saw that saved.
