    Middlesbrough kept the fire of automatic-promotion ambition burning bright when they up and thrashed play-off hopefuls Norwich City last night.

    Cameron Archer was the star of the five-star show from Boro, scoring two goals and setting up another two in their 5-1 win.

    Victory closed the gap between third-placed Boro and second-placed Sheffield United to five points.

    The Blades, who are up first in today's Championship action, have two games in hand as of right now.

    Plymouth Argyle come to their biggest rivals knowing victory at Exeter City will bolster their push for an automatic promotion place.

    But the Grecians would love nothing more than putting a spanner in the works of the Pilgrims on their home turf.
