It was a fabulous first half from Sam Kerr.

She led the line relentlessely she has been the catalyst for Chelsea's performance this evening.

I know she wasn't on the scoresheet, but she was the reason for both Chelsea goals.

Aston Villa had 61% of the possession but Chelsea have been so clinical and created so many chances.

They managed to create 1.41 expected goals in the first half.

I've been so impressed with Chelsea. We shouldn't be surprised, they are the champions.

Yet to go through what they did in midweek, to then come here with so much energy and aggressive, high pressure, it's been fantastic to watch.

Both goals came from the high pressure, and it could have been one or two more as well.

Chelsea have stopped the opposition from scoring a first-half goal in 12 of their 16 games, only Manchester United (16) have done this more often in the Women's Super League this season.

I feel like I need a lie down. I bet the Chelsea players feel the same.

No sign at all from the first half that the midweek game against Lyon has dampened their energy levels - Chelsea were just completely relentless.

Aston Villa haven't performed badly, but they've been made to pay when they switched off.

It's exactly what Villa didn't want.

Unfortunately [Rachel] Daly was forced to drop deep to get on the ball, then she gives away a square ball from which Chelsea jump straight on the counter-attack.

A great move from Chelsea and the finish from [Guro] Reiten was fantastic.

Aston Villa look to pull something back as Kirsty Hanson heads a corner towards Zecira Musovic, but it's easily saved.

Hanson collides with her teammate Anna Patten and play is stopped.

Villa have had two or three opportunities now with [Kenza] Dali and [Jordan] Nobbs being the ball carrier, but not capitalised on them.

They need to try and get the ball to [Alisha] Lehmann and [Rachel] Daly - they've not really been involved in the game yet.

It's worth keeping in mind that if the result stays as it is then Chelsea will be one point off the top spot in the race for the WSL title with a game in hand.

Chelsea aren't letting up. Guro Reiten tries to thread through Sam Kerr but her pass is sloppy and it rolls into Hannah Hampton's hands.

Villa can't catch a break.

Sam Kerr deserved a goal then.

She's done so much running for the team, her work off the ball is unbelievable.

If it wasn't for the crossbar, she would have had a well deserved goal.

This high press is working very well for Chelsea, Villa need to do something or they will find themselves two goals down.

Sam Kerr is slipped through on goal by Jelena Cankovic and is one-on-one but her shot rattles the crossbar.

Ooohh! Guro Reiten just leans back too far as she runs to meet a loose ball in the Villa box, but she skies her effort.

The very few times that Chelsea are not in possession, they are getting bodies around the ball.

They're making it very hard for Villa to supply Rachel Daly. She has seen very little of the ball so far.

Cries of handball as Chelsea attack in the Villa box, with Johanna Rytting Kaneryd's cross blocked by a Villa player, but the referee waves their claims away.

Aston Villa are attracting a lot of pressure.
