It's about the quick free-kick. The manager has to take great credit in making that change - playing McTominay further forward and allowing McGregor to sit in front of the back three. The pass is brilliant, and he's cool and calm and slots it in.

  4. RED CARD Nicholas Ioannou (Cyprus)published at 90+5 mins

    Scotland 3-0 Cyprus

It just gets worse for Cyprus. Nicholas Ioannou, who had been booked earlier, kicks the ball away petulantly after a free-kick is awarded in Scotland's favour and it's a second yellow and then a red card for the defender.

  5. goal

    Scott McTominay

That adds some gloss to the scoreline for Scotland.

Ryan Christie's cross is cut out but falls for Andy Robertson, who squares to Scott McTominay for the sidefoot finish.

A double for McTominay takes his Scotland tally to three.

It's absolutely wonderful. Christie does great, but there's still a lot of work to do and it's down to Dykes to make it happen. That cushioned header - magnificent.

    Scotland 2-0 Cyprus

Another chance for Scotland with Andy Robertson going through on the left but his effort is off target.

It's been a strong finish to this game for Steve Clarke's side.

    Leanne Crichton
    Ex-Scotland international on BBC Sportsound

It's a brilliant team goal. The press from Christie is excellent, he then puts it into a dangerous area. The touch from Dykes is absolutely exquisite. He cushions the header and it's a top class finish from McTominay. It's top drawer.

Ugh, we wouldn't have it any other way, would we?

The joys of following Scotland, there is no such thing as a stress-free game, but surely, that's the three points in the bag now...

  13. goal

GOAL Scotland 2-0 Cypruspublished at 87 mins

    Scott McTominay

It's the second goal Scotland were looking for and it's so well worked.

Ryan Christie steals possession and keeps the ball in play on the right. His cross is nodded down nonchalantly by Lyndon Dykes for Scott McTominay to take the ball down on the run and finish well. Three substitutes combining very well.

Gunn will be happy, it's taken a deflection and he has to adjust. It's a decent strike so the young keeper will be delighted with that take.

Andy Robertson's tantalising low ball across the face of the Cyprus goal goes untouched, with Lyndon Dykes the closest player to it in the middle.

Cyprus make two more substitutions with Loizos Loizou and Marinos Tzionis coming on for Grigoris Kastanos and Alex Gogic.

Scotland also make a change. Nathan Patterson is on for Aaron Hickey on the right-hand side.

It's getting quite concerning for Scotland. They had a burst towards the opponent's goal just when they made the subs. Apart from that, there's been nothing to report in the second half.
