The national anthem rings around the stadium again to create a bit of an atmosphere in an otherwise drab second half.

Can the dulcet tones of the Tartan Army galvanise the Scotland players?

Scotland substitutes Ryan Christie and Scott McTominay have shots blocked in quick succession. It was a crowded Cyprus box.

Double Scotland change. Stuart Armstrong and Ryan Jack make way and on come Scott McTominay and Ryan Christie.

Cyprus also make a substitution with Andronikos Kakoulli on for Ioannis Pittas.

    Scotland 1-0 Cyprus

    Alan Hutton
Former Scotland defender on BBC 5 Live

It looks like Scotland are calling in Billy Gilmour. It's the 60-minute mark, it's gone a little stale. Can they get someone on who can get back on the ball and make something happen?

  9. CLOSE!published at 65 mins

    Scotland 1-0 Cyprus

Scotland's best chance of the second half. Stuart Armstrong releases Andy Robertson in space on the left and the captain's cross/shot is just too far ahead of Aaron Hickey in the six-yard box

  10. Postpublished at 15:23 Greenwich Mean Time 25 March 2023

    Scotland 1-0 Cyprus

    Craig Levein
Former Scotland manager on BBC Sportsound

The second half hasn't lived up to the promise of the first. We've lost our way a wee bit. I am not sure what the reason for it is. I don't think it is anything Cyprus have done. I just think our standards have dropped a bit.

  11. Scotland need second to kill contestpublished at 15:23 Greenwich Mean Time 25 March 2023

    Scotland 1-0 Cyprus

    Martin Dowden
BBC Sport Scotland at Hampden Park

This is drifting into one of those cagey occasions. They have controlled the match, but Scotland are lacking threat and the longer this goes at just 1-0, the more Cyprus will believe they can maybe just nick something.

The pitch does seem to be playing a part, but it's the sort of game Scotland need to assert themselves in with tougher fixtures ahead.

    Scotland 1-0 Cyprus

    Willie Miller
Former Scotland defender on BBC Sportsound

It's just looking a bit frustrating for Scotland. Cyprus have organised themselves well and are looking much tighter than they were in the first half. They don't look like they are much of a threat up front, but you never know.

  13. Postpublished at 60 mins

    Scotland 1-0 Cyprus

John McGinn scoops a cross much too high after Scotland are forced wide on the right.

Other than the score, Cyprus have the game where they want it and are just looking for that one chance to strike.

  14. Dykes answers the callpublished at 15:19 Greenwich Mean Time 25 March 2023

    Scotland 1-0 Cyprus

    Amy Canavan
    BBC Scotland at Hampden Park

Lyndon Dykes answered the call promptly to replace Che Adams, no mucking around, stripped and ready to go.

Some of the other attacking cavalry have been sent out to warm up too. Up until now, there has been very little movement down there for Scotland, Cyprus substitutes on the other hand haven't stopped.

  15. Not pitch perfectpublished at 15:17 Greenwich Mean Time 25 March 2023

    Scotland 1-0 Cyprus

    Willie Miller
Former Scotland defender on BBC Sportsound

I think the pitch is a problem. It is not in bad condition, but I think it is soft underfoot and you can see some players are wary of it. A few have slipped when making a sharp turn.

  18. Postpublished at 55 mins

    Scotland 1-0 Cyprus

A vital tackle from Alex Gogic halts Che Adams' route to goal after Cyprus are caught short in defence.

The hosts recycle but are again forced wide and cannot find the right delivery.

  19. Cyprus under strangleholdpublished at 15:13 Greenwich Mean Time 25 March 2023

    Scotland 1-0 Cyprus

    Pat Nevin
Former Scotland winger on BBC 5 Live

Scotland aren't giving the Cypriots much chance in the middle. They aren't that technically gifted in the midfield, but give them space and they can look good. But Scotland have not given them any space so far.

  20. YELLOW CARDpublished at 53 mins

Nicholas Ioannou is booked for a pull on Scotland's Aaron Hickey.
