Iliman Ndiaye goes down under Erik Pieters' challenge in the area but the penalty shouts are only from the crowd really.

Semi Ajayi fouls Oli McBurnie from Darnell Furlong's long throw.

West Brom then fashion another good chance to break but Jayson Molumby wastes his good work in winning possession by pulling a pass behind Furlong.

Karlan Grant advances forward and finds Jed Wallace who has several options but instead picks out a Sheffield United on the edge of the box.

Three minutes to be added on.

A passage of play that sums the match up as James McAtee badly overruns the ball in what looked a dangerous Blades attack before West Brom give up possession in return almost immediately.

For two of the second tier's best sides, this has been scrappy. But when the pressure is on, mistakes can creep in.

    Sheff Utd 0-0 West Brom

The latest in a number of strange decisions from the officials as Brandon Thomas-Asante is clearly pushed to the ground by Jack Robinson but gets nothing.

Would love to see Sheffield United win promotion if it means an inebriated McCall climbing on to a car roof again...

Blades gaffer Paul Heckingbottom and assistant Stuart McCall have been deep in conversation on the edge of their technical area for much of the past few minutes.

It just isn't clicking for the home side at the moment.

Right now they'd probably take going in level at the break and trying to get things going in the second half.

A point wouldn't be the worst result for West Brom tonight but they would stay ninth and they do face two of their play-off rivals - Norwich and Swansea - in their final two games of the season.

They'd need to win both, you'd suspect.

Taylor Gardner-Hickman fouls James McAtee on the right flank. The free-kick is whipped to the far post where Sander Berge's header goes miles over.

Jed Wallace looks the best way out for Albion down the right. He's leaving his full back dead for pace.

  10. ACROBATIC EFFORTpublished at 35 mins

    Sheff Utd 0-0 West Brom

Decent technique from Taylor Gardner-Hickman from Jed Wallace's deep cross - but it's straight at Wes Foderingham.

Wallace's delivery looks West Brom's chief threat tonight.

Tommy Doyle has space to pick out a cross but only finds the grateful, waiting arms of Alex Palmer.

Groans from the stands. Sheffield United haven't quite clicked in the final third yet.

Another injury concern, this time for the Baggies as Karlan Grant goes down clutching his ankle.

He's OK to play on though.

Sheffield United have definitely settled now.

There are seven sides between fifth and 12th in the table cheering them on.

Albion have just got a little disorganised and it's allowing Sheffield United to come at them a bit.

Here was the clearest chance of the match so far - Karlan Grant putting this close-range header over the bar early doors.

It's the best opportunity either side have fashioned.

    Sheff Utd 0-0 West Brom

First effort on target of note for the Blades as Jack Robinson strikes one with the outside of the boot from just inside the box.

Decent hit but too close to Alex Palmer and the Baggies keeper gets down well to hold on to it.

To be generous, the home fans are not exactly enamoured by some of the decisions from the referee thus far.

That Erik Pieters tackle didn't make great viewing in real time but a yellow card probably about right.

Of course, the officials did miss a clear penalty for the away side in the opening minutes...

Erik Pieters goes in a little bit high on Tommy Doyle after letting the ball overrun.

    A yellow card is shown.

Max Lowe's cross takes a clear nick off Darnell Furlong but a corner isn't given.

Sheffield United unimpressed with the last couple of decisions from ref Dean Whitestone.

Short memories, they were lucky he didn't award a penalty against them a few minutes ago.

Oli McBurnie is not happy and he has a point.

Conor Townsend does the usual defender trick of trying to shepherd a ball out for a goal-kick but McBurnie gets around him to keep it in, only to be penalised.

Strikers' union will agree with his annoyance.
