    Man City 2-0 Leeds

Erling Haaland sticks his head in to meet a steered cross from Aymeric Laporte against the bar, but the flag is up. The City defender moved a fraction early for a free-kick and is caught offside.

As you can imagine, there's been zero change in the momentum of the game. All one way.

  2. Postpublished at 16:06 British Summer Time 6 May 2023

    Wolves 1-0 Aston Villa

Chance right at the start of the second half for Wolves.

Aston Villa are hoping for an offside flag that does not arrive as Diego Costa breaks clear, but his low shot from a tight angle is saved by Emiliano Martinez.

Jacob Ramsey meanwhile needs some treatment on a head injury after he was accidently caught by Craig Dawson's boot in the build-up.

  3. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 16:04 British Summer Time 6 May 2023

    Wolves 1-0 Aston Villa

Aston Villa made a change at the break with Leon Bailey coming on Bertrand Traore, who looked a little rusty in that opening 45.

The English top flight is becoming vastly overrated. A couple of good teams each year followed by 16 average teams. It’s actually three leagues in one. Top six, middle six and bottom six.

    Steve, Poole

With regards to Man City not really having any challengers, I don't find that good for the game and league. Don't want Scottish/German/Italian (Juventus for nine years straight) scenario here. Unless you're a Man City fan, then you probably don't care.

  5. KICK-OFFpublished at 16:03 British Summer Time 6 May 2023

Here comes another 45+ minutes of action from the Premier League.

The 3pm games are getting back under way...

  6. Postpublished at 16:03 British Summer Time 6 May 2023

    HT: Tottenham 1-0 Crystal Palace

Harry Kane's goal lifts him above Wayne Rooney up to second on the all-time Premier League goalscorers list.

    • Alan Shearer (260)
    • Harry Kane (209)
    • Wayne Rooney (208)
  7. Postpublished at 16:00 British Summer Time 6 May 2023

    HT: Wolves 1-0 Aston Villa

Aston Villa have a record of W0, D1, L9 when trailing at half-time in the Premier League this season.

  8. Postpublished at 15:59 British Summer Time 6 May 2023

    HT: Man City 2-0 Leeds

Manchester City are unbeaten in their past 41 Premier League matches when leading at half-time (W38, D3) dating back to 18 May 2021 against Brighton & Hove Albion (L2-3).

That run won't be ending today.

In that first half, City completed 437 passes. It's the most any side's completed in the first half of a Premier League game this season.

Tom: Those having a dig at Big Sam's claim to being an equally good manager as anyone should take an objective view. Man City have a better squad than Leeds, and he's only been in charge a matter of days. Give him (another) chance.

  10. Postpublished at 15:54 British Summer Time 6 May 2023

    HT: Man City 2-0 Leeds

For the second time in a week, a side has come here in the Premier League with the intention being purely to stop City.

West Ham kept it at 0-0 until the break before wilting. Leeds are done and dusted before then.

I'm intrigued to know how you all feel about whether that is a healthy place for the English top flight to be in?

Equally, while winning is always good, I'm interested to know if City fans get as much joy from beating vastly inferior sides with such ease? Is not part of the thrill of winning fuelled by the jeopardy that you might not? There's simply no tension in this.

That's a typical Harry Kane goal. He holds the ball up, plays a lovely pass out wide to Pedro Porro and then heads in the cross. Palace will be disappointed as that was pretty much the last kick of the first 45.

  12. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:51 British Summer Time 6 May 2023

    Wolves 1-0 Aston Villa

It is half-time at Molineux too after an enterprising 45 minutes from both sides.

Toti's early header is the difference, with Jose Sa coming up with the save of the match so far to deny Emiliano Buendia at the other end.

    Noni MaduekeImage source, Getty Images

Of all our many, many January signings Madueke has probably been our best. At the very least the hardest working and looks like he wants to prove himself. Really hope he gets a chance on the team next season.

  14. 'Total domination from Man City'published at 15:49 British Summer Time 6 May 2023

    HT: Man City 2-0 Leeds

    Michael Brown
Former Manchester City midfielder for BBC Radio 5 Live

Wonderful half. Total domination from City, some special moves and great finishes from Ilkay Gundogan.

Leeds aren't going to get back into it. Once they conceded, it was going to be a really long afternoon.

City have been really clinical, the possession stats have been high. Again, there could have been many more goals.

  15. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:49 British Summer Time 6 May 2023

    Tottenham 1-0 Crystal Palace

And there is the half-time whistle. We could only have played a matter of seconds after the goal.

  16. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:49 British Summer Time 6 May 2023

    Bournemouth 1-1 Chelsea

An even contest, between two sides that aren't going down.

Chelsea have perhaps been the slightly more dangerous, with Noni Madueke a highlight. But considering the cost of their squad, they'll again be expecting more.

  17. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:48 British Summer Time 6 May 2023

    Man City 2-0 Leeds

Phil Foden fires a volley just wide and the whistle blows for the break.

It's been as one-sided as everyone expected. City have the points in the bag. They'll be going four points clear at the top.

With Real to come for City and Leeds' goal difference concerns, I suspect both sides would probably happily shake on ending this now and both going their separate ways.

    Classic Harry Kane.

Pedro Porro plays a dangerous ball in from the right and the England captain powers a header beyond Sam Johnstone at the far post.

The home side lead seconds before the break.

  19. Postpublished at 15:45 British Summer Time 6 May 2023

    Bournemouth 1-1 Chelsea

Noni Madueke has been Chelsea's bright spark.

He cuts in from the right, with the Cherries defence stretched, but his low ball is cut out by a sliding home defender and then cleared.

The script was that we get a good win against Wolves then qualification for Europe is in our own hands as we play the three other teams vying for a place including two at home. Unfortunately the Wolves players haven’t read the script. Villa all over them but they have scored in off the woodwork from their only chance. Come on Villa.
