    West Ham 1-0 Man Utd

A reminder that Said Benrahma also gave West Ham the lead when these teams met at Old Trafford earlier this year in the FA Cup. The Red Devils ended up winning 3-1.

There is an awful long way to go in this game.

    So close!

Another bright Manchester United attack and this time Antony's attempt hits the outside of the post.

    At least they're getting closer.

Richard: In a game we have to win, De Gea is doing us no favours. Abysmal goalkeeping.

Seth: When we say De Gea is not good enough, this is just an example. The number of errors he made over the last few years, especially under Ole and now under ETH is incredible. There is no way he should be a starter next season if we want to move forward.

Paul: Oh dear David de Gea! That wasn’t a particularly good shot from Benrahma either but that’s abysmal goalkeeping.

David de Gea, who is dressed top to toe in yellow, doesn't know where to look. He looks completely crestfallen.

  6. 'Beyond shocking from De Gea'published at 19:30 British Summer Time 7 May 2023

    West Ham 1-0 Man Utd

Former Newcastle and Tottenham midfielder Jermaine Jenas on BT Sport: “It’s an absolute shocker from David de Gea. That’s beyond shocking. His team is in full control of this game and to let one in like that. He’ll know himself.”

A howler from David de Gea!

West Ham take the lead with their first serious attempt as the ball breaks loose for Said Benrahma who drives at Manchester United's defence.

Behrahma lets fly from outside the box and it looks like a routine save for De Gea but the ball somehow spins into the net after the keeper fails to push it clear.

A quick summary of what has happened so far. Manchester United have had loads of chances but cannot get anything on target. David de Gea, who has had nothing to do, passed straight to a West Ham shirt but got away with it.

Can't help but laugh at people having a go at DDG... golden glove leader. His distribution isn't the problem. It's the people he's distributing it to.

I hope this match doesn't end up being only an advert for why we need a 'Harry Kane'.

Michail Antonio chases a lost cause but manages to send a cross into the Manchester United box even though the ball was clearly out of play. Play goes on but the move fizzles out.

And Manchester United go close again!

Great footwork by Marcus Rashford inside the West Ham box before drilling just wide of Lukasz Fabianski's post. The Hammers keeper hasn't had to make a save yet but he's certainly being kept on his toes.

Another Manchester United attempt. This time Christian Eriksen's curling first-time attempt from just inside the box whistles over the bar.

That's four attempts inside 15 minutes. Are they going to get one on target?

After West Ham's bright start, it is the visitors who are dominating possession now. By the way, great atmosphere inside the ground. These 7pm Sunday evening kick-offs could become popular.

De Gea's distribution and kicking is absolutely woeful. It is such a weakness for the United defence.

United have failed to capitalise on two decent openings in the first six minutes. Lack of efficiency in attack is a huge problem for this Manchester United side. It’s the same week in, week out.
