To do what he's (Lamouchi) done to get them out of trouble - he's done really well.

I think he's good enough to manage amongst the top echelons of the league.

I think the problems are higher up to be honest.

For me he more than deserves to stay on.

  2. Lamouchi open to discussing Cardiff City futurepublished at 12:53 British Summer Time 30 April 2023

HT: Cardiff City 0-0 Huddersfield Town

Manager Sabri Lamouchi says he is "absolutely available" to discuss his Cardiff City future after steering the club to Championship survival.

The Frenchman's short-term contract expires in the summer.

When asked whether he expects to remain in charge at Cardiff next season, Lamouchi said: "Why not? Everything is open."

Lamouchi became Cardiff's third manager of a turbulent campaign when he was appointed in January.

His tally of six wins in 16 games means Cardiff are five points clear of the relegation zone.

    It wasn't very good.

Two teams of poor quality and that's the reason they are where they are.

You could clearly see Cardiff City are nowhere where they need to be as a team and a club.

Credit to the fans for turning up to support their clubs.

    Just two minutes added on?

I think the fourth official also wanted to go in for a cup of tea.

  6. HALF-TIME - Cardiff City 0-0 Huddersfield Townpublished at 12:49 British Summer Time 30 April 2023

A truly forgettable 45 minutes of football.

Be back with the second half shortly, hopefully both teams find some rhythm after the break.

Cardiff need to get the ball into midfield, we've only seen it there about once in 45 minutes.

Two minutes added on in the first half.

The sooner the whistle comes the better, the second half cannot be much worse a contest than this opening 45 minutes.

Huddersfield are finishing the half on top, as Josh Koroma runs at the Cardiff defence before Cedric Kipre gets a foot in to stop the Terriers winger in his tracks.

Cardiff have caused more problems for themselves than Huddersfield have created.

Jac Alnwick has to react quickly and race off his line to stop Danny Ward reaching an under-hit back pass.

Thankfully for Cardiff it appears that Cedric Kipre is okay, as he gingerly makes his way to the touchline.

No subs are warming up so looks like he will be back on shortly.

Cedric Kipre - Cardiff's match winner at Rotherham - is down after his leg appeared to give way underneath him off the ball.

Could be another forced change for Sabri Lamouchi in the first half.

At the other end Jak Alnwick is called into action to deny Dany Ward from a tight angle.

Finally the game is picking up some pace... just as half time approaches.

  16. Best move of the game for Cardiffpublished at 38 mins

    Cardiff 0-0 Huddersfield

Cardiff's forwards finally link up well.

First Sory Kaba wins a long ball and nods down for Joe Ralls.

He finds Jaden Philogene on the edge of the area who plays a lovely one-two with Sory Kaba before hitting the side netting.

    Better from the Bluebirds.

Unfortunately for the visitors the resulting corner doesn't beat the first man, and Cardiff break through Sheyi Ojo.

His pass for Jaden Philogene is a good one, but the Aston Villa loanee is a yard offside.

Nice work from Huddersfield, who carve open Cardiff for just the second time.

Danny Ward does well to nip in in front of Mark McGuinness and play in Jack Rudoni, but Jack Simpson does well to get back and block the effort behind for a corner.

A crowd of bodies rise right in front of Cardiff keeper Jak Alnwick, as the ball bounces behind.

Huddersfield players and coaches are incensed that a goal-kick has been given as they feel the last touch came off Mark McGuinness.

Huddersfield win a corner down the right which Jack Rudoni is going across to take.

Not to repeat myself but this game really needs a spark.
