Brentford v West Ham (14:00 BST)

West Ham's mind might be elsewhere as they close in on a first trophy since 1980.

The Hammers beat AZ Alkmaar 2-1 in their Europa Conference League semi-final first leg on Thursday and go to the Netherlands next week bidding to reach the final.

They have only won one of the six top-flight matches this season that have come within three days of them playing in Europe (D3, L2), although that was their last such fixture, April's 4-0 victory at Bournemouth.

Brentford v West Ham (14:00 BST)

Brentford have only been beaten in two of their 17 Premier League home fixtures this season (W8, D7), losing 3-0 to Arsenal in September and 2-1 versus Newcastle last month.

The Bees have scored in 11 consecutive home league matches since their 0-0 draw with Chelsea on 19 October.

Will Man City be on song or can Everton hit all the right notes again?

Last night Eurovision took place just a few miles away from here but after a performance from one of the acts, they won't be showing any replays of the show around here, eh?

(I didn't watch it, I read about it on Twitter)

  5. Saints relegation confirmedpublished at 13:20 British Summer Time 14 May 2023

Southampton became the first club to be relegated to the Championship from this season's Premier League yesterday as they lost 2-0 at home to Fulham.

    West Ham United

West Ham manager David Moyes: "We've got one eye on the semi-final [on Thursday]. I trust our players, they've played a lot of games this season.

"Michail Antonio has a calf injury, I can't tell you much more than that right now.

"The focus is always on the next game. That is what we've prepared the players for, but we do have our minds on other things, but it is about picking up points.

"It is important to keep momentum going but it is important that we have everyone fit and available."

Brentford have won all three Premier League meetings, including a 2-0 victory at London Stadium in the reverse fixture on 30 December.

West Ham's last league win at Brentford was in March 1953, a 4-1 win in the Second Division.

Everton v Man City (14:00 BST)

Summer is finally approaching on a delightful day at Goodison Park, as relegation-threatened Everton host Treble-chasing Manchester City.

Outside the stadium proudly stands the statue of Toffees legend Dixie Dean, English top flight football's record goalscorer in a single campaign.

Dean netted 60 league goals and three more in the FA Cup 95 years ago, but hot on his heels is a prolific Norwegian who is hunting that record.

Superstar Erling Haaland has taken these shores by storm in his first season since joining City from Borussia Dortmund in the summer, netting an astonishing 51 goals in only 47 games. So far.

Should Pep Guardiola's side progress past Real Madrid and reach the Champions League final, the 22-year-old potentially has seven games remaining in his attempt to beat that long-standing record.

If there's one man who can it's Haaland and what better place to claw into the remaining 13 goals target than today.

West Ham are bidding to keep successive Premier League clean sheets for the first time since October 2021.

A 12th Premier League away defeat of the season would equal a club record (with six other seasons, most recently 2012-13).

Manchester City could be four points clear at the top by this evening if they beat Everton - or Arsenal could be top if City lose and the Gunners beat Brighton.

Everton could go four points above the relegation zone - and Brighton could move into a Europa League slot.

West Ham will be guaranteed Premier League survival if they beat Brentford, who are the only team with nothing on the line.
