It's a simple free kick from the left hand side, floated in from De Bruyne. Akanji has the slightest touch onto Militao's thigh whether it will go down as an own goal or not. Pep Guardiola won't care. Thibaut Courtois was wrong footed.

I think that's game, set and match. Not even the mighty Madrid can come back from this. Carlo Ancelotti is asking for VAR, but not even VAR is going to save Man City tonight.

The build-up play was brilliant from City. Haaland shifted the ball quickly on to his right foot and it comes off Courtois's leg onto the bar.

Thibaut Courtois keeps the tie alive!

City's build-up is patient and brilliant. Erling Haaland finds Ilkay Gundogan, who back-heels the striker in on goal. The Norwegian's effort is on target until the Real keeper gets contact on it to send the ball looping over the bar.

Vinicius Junior tumbles to the turf in the City box but the ball is long gone. He'll get nothing.

Kyle Walker turns and whips up the crowd, who respond with a roar.

Marco Asensio is on in place of Toni Kroos. That's both of Real's golden oldies in midfield replaced.

City are 20 minutes from the Champions League final.
