Chelsea need to get on the front foot.
Frank Lampard isn't going to be here next season so he has nothing to lose. He should be asking them to go and engage.

The 'Poznan' celebration is already in full flow up in the stands.

Phil Foden is enjoying plenty of time on the ball in midfield, with Chelsea unwilling to engage.

Chelsea are trying to play out from the back but they are not Manchester City and they aren't comfortable.
That's how Frank Lampard wants them to play but only Thiago Silva looks happy trying to start those moves off.

Jamie Jennrich: The sooner Lampard is gone the better, his team set ups are severely questionable, also the team look devoid of instructions, what is he doing all week, absolutely ridiculous.
Koko B Ware: Chelsea were already a mess but Frank has undeniably made them worse, how can your idea on how to organise a defence be to just drop almost all of your attacking players.
Man City 1-0 Chelsea
City build patiently, with all 11 of Chelsea's players behind the ball.
They go back first to spring forward, Phil Foden swivelling in midfield to set his side away.
Cole Palmer shoots, but it's deflected away from goal.
Man City 1-0 Chelsea
Frank Lampard is deep in discussion, trying to work out a route into this match.
It's hard to see one right now with City in this mood.
Man City 1-0 Chelsea
City had 70% possession in the first 15 minutes, but it felt like more.
Chelsea have the ball in defence but they're immediately under pressure and it's never long before City hunt them down and win the ball back.

Touches in the opposition box:
Manchester City - 15
Chelsea - 1
Man City 1-0 Chelsea
That's very late from Kai Havertz, taking out Kalvin Phillips in the centre of the pitch.
VAR might want to check it. Not a good challenge at all - but it stays a yellow.
Man City 1-0 Chelsea
Concern on Frank Lampard's face.
This is shaping up to be a very long afternoon.

Manchester City are at it again. Chelsea are very passive so far, almost as if they have no desire to spoil the party. They have certainly entered into the spirit if some of their early work is anything to go by.
They are at sixes and sevens - and that might be the scoreline if this carries on.
Man City 1-0 Chelsea
Chelsea don't really know what to do here. They're completely second best across the pitch despite all the Manchester City changes.
Cole Palmer is really enjoying himself on the left flank, but Chelsea manage to scramble his ball into the box clear.

It's a very good goal but Chelsea are all over the place at the back.
Once Alvarez gets into that position he just doesn't miss.
Julian Alvarez
Julian Alvarez gets the party started at the Etihad!
Chelsea lose possession and Alvarez loses his man, with his run into the box picked out by Cole Palmer.
It was a matter of time.
Man City 0-0 Chelsea
That Manchester City bench today really is quite ridiculous.

While I appreciate Grealish cost £100 million, recent business by City has been sharp and clever. Look at Haaland, Alvarez and Akanji. All 3 cost less than £80m.
Tom, Cheshire.
City's bench is ridiculous. That team alone would finish in the top 4, with just those 9 players!

Man City 0-0 Chelsea
Kyle Walker clatters into Enzo Fernandez to beat the Chelsea midfielder to a loose pass.
Walker gets the ball first but follows through and it's a nasty one for Fernandez. Play goes on, though.
Man City 0-0 Chelsea
The City pressure continues. Conor Gallagher gets in the way of a Riyad Mahrez cross and concedes a corner, following which Phil Foden drills a low left-footed shot wide of goal from distance. Worth a pop.
