Former Spurs captain on Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

An exceptional talent, one of the best attacking midfielders in the world right now.

Sad day to see her leave Chelsea and the WSL.

She's been unlucky with injuries this season, but it has been no surprise that Chelsea have been amongst the goals a lot more when she was back ready for selection.

She knits together the midfield and the forward line, and her return saw Sam Kerr return to normal duties, scoring goals herself.

  2. CLOSE!published at 16:04 British Summer Time 27 May 2023

    Arsenal 0-2 Aston Villa

Villa should be out of sight!

Another big chance as the ball is cut back from the left, Simone Magill comes onto it but her side-footed effort flies over the bar.

  3. goal

    Lucia Garcia

    Instant impact.

Lucia Garcia comes off the bench to net for Manchester United for the second week running.

She gets in behind before chipping the ball over a back-pedalling defender. The Reds can't close her down quick enough and she's able to let the ball bounce before smashing it in at the near post.

United lead, but Chelsea look set to win the title.

    Ava Baker (72 mins)

    Safety sealed beyond doubt.

Brighton do not cover themselves in glory with their defending from a set-piece and the ball is allowed to bounce in the six-yard box, where Leicester substitute Ava Baker hooks home.

    Brighton 0-0 Leicester

Danielle Carter almost bids farewell to Brighton with a goal as the balls nicely for her around 15 yards out and her measured strike seems destined for the bottom corner, only for Ashleigh Plumptre to stick out a foot to block it.

    Brighton 0-0 Leicester

Plenty of substitutions at the Broadfield Stadium are breaking up the flow of the second half in what has become, to all intents and purposes, a bit of a dead rubber.

Former Arsenal and England player Danielle Carter is on to make her final Brighton appearance ahead of her summer departure while teenager Monique Robinson is among the Leicester changes.

    Arsenal 0-2 Aston Villa

    Jenna Schillaci
Former Spurs captain on Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

I think Villa recruited really well in the summer, they added some really experienced players in the January window as well.

I don't think that it is a surprise that they are where they are, they've kicked on when other teams haven't got their recruitment right.

You compare them to Tottenham, who didn't get their recruitment right and the difference is there.

Villa are the best of the rest in the WSL this season.
