  1. CLOSE!published at 15:44 British Summer Time 27 May 2023

    Arsenal 0-2 Aston Villa

Big chance for Rachel Daly to grab that WSL record!

Lotte Wubben-Moy is caught in possession, the ball comes to Daly inside the box but she takes too long over the shot and that allows the defender to get back and make the block.

  2. Postpublished at 15:43 British Summer Time 27 May 2023

    Brighton 0-0 Leicester

First sniff of goal for Leicester in the second half at the Broadfield Stadium as Hannah Cain lines up a free-kick around 25 yards out on the left but it floats a few inches over the bar.

    Not a bad effort.

  3. 'Reading look like a beaten team'published at 15:43 British Summer Time 27 May 2023

    Reading 0-2 Chelsea

    Jenna Schillaci
Former Spurs captain on Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

    Reading look done.

There's no leaders out there really, no one trying to gee up the team, heads are down and body language isn't great either.

They look like a team beaten already.

This club has been in the top league for a number of seasons now so it is a sad, sad day. But you want to see some fight from the players.

  4. goal

GOAL - Man City 1-0 Evertonpublished at 51 mins

    Khadija Shaw

Manchester City break the deadlock, counter-attacking from an Everton corner kick.

Lauren Hemp lays the ball off to Khadija Shaw who buries it right into the bottom corner.

The Jamaican forward has now scored 19 goals this campaign and is three behind Aston Villa's Rachel Daly in the golden boot race.

  5. 'Villa with another upset'published at 15:41 British Summer Time 27 May 2023

    Arsenal 0-2 Aston Villa

    Jenna Schillaci
Former Spurs captain on Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

Villa have been fantastic this season.

Real underdogs and they are carrying it on right until the end of the season.

They have upset quite a few of the top teams this season and Arsenal are no different.

  6. CLOSE!published at 15:41 British Summer Time 27 May 2023

    Man City 0-0 Everton

Brilliant chance for Everton as Nicoline Sorensen twists and turns before unleashing a powerful shot that stings the palms of City keeper Khiara Keating and goes over.

  7. goal

GOAL - Arsenal 0-2 Aston Villapublished at 15:39 British Summer Time 27 May 2023

    Alisha Lehmann (49 mins)

Villa double their lead - they've never beaten Arsenal in the WSL!

It's a cross from the left, Arsenal fail to clear it and it comes to Alisha Lehmann 15 yards out.

She's able to take a touch before hitting a low shot through the legs of the defender and past Sabrina D'Angelo.

Much like the first half, Manchester United are keeping hold of the ball beautifully. They're not creating many chances though.

  9. goal

GOAL - West Ham 2-2 Tottenhampublished at 15:39 British Summer Time 27 May 2023

    Beth England (48 mins)

Goodness me, Beth England is giving Lionesses boss Sarina Wiegman food for thought, surely.

She has been on fire for Spurs since joining and has her second goal of the day here. She just knows exactly where to be in the box at the right time.

Like with Spurs' opener, it's Rosella Ayane with the assist as England prods her cross home from six yards.

Would you have Beth in your World Cup squad? Hit the thumbs.

  10. 'Reading have lacked fire this season'published at 15:38 British Summer Time 27 May 2023

    Reading 0-2 Chelsea

    Jenna Schillaci
Former Spurs captain on Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

Over the seasons when I played against Reading, they have always been a difficutlt team to play against and to break down. They try to upset teams.

Obviously they lost some key players at the end of last season, and other teams have strengthened, and they have just lacked that fire.

To survive in this league you have to have that financial backing and investment just to keep up. Each season you need that guarantee or you will get left behind.

    Reading 0-2 Chelsea

Chelsea threaten for the first time in the half as Lauren James makes a run on the inside, is found and then puts in a good ball from the byline.

Reading have the numbers to get it clear but Chelsea seem able to get themselves into dangerous positions at will.

    Man City 0-0 Everton

Chance for Manchester City's Lauren Hemp who is sent clear down the left, but her shot from a tight angle curls off target.

Her side look the likelier to get the breakthrough at the moment.

    Brighton 0-0 Leicester

Leicester City have failed to score a first-half goal in 17 of their 22 games, more often than any other team in the English Women's Super League this season.

So the first-half scoreline here probably wasn't too much of a surprise. With safety virtually in the bag thanks to Chelsea's two goals a Reading, will they go all out in this second half to end the season with a bang?

  14. 'United need to dictate play'published at 15:35 British Summer Time 27 May 2023

    Liverpool 0-0 Man Utd

    Siobhan Chamberlain
Ex-England and Man Utd goalkeeper on BBC One

I want to see someone in the middle of the field picking up the ball and dictating the play.

If Manchester United are going to win this game they need to dictate play.

For Liverpool it's a case of being more effective.

  15. 'Question of how many goals for Chelsea now'published at 15:34 British Summer Time 27 May 2023

    Reading 0-2 Chelsea

    Jenna Schillaci
Former Spurs captain on Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

I can't see Reading coming back from this now.

As the first half went on Chelsea grew in confidence, and the way they are moving the ball, Reading just don't look brave enough.

It was unfortunate that Deanne Rose had to come off, but I really cannot see a way back.

It may be a question of how many more Chelsea will score, I could see plenty more goals coming in this second half.

Not quite. Ann-Katrin Berger comes out to punch the ball clear.

Corner to Reading early in the second half.

    The comeback starts here?

  18. KICK-OFFpublished at 15:33 British Summer Time 27 May 2023

We are back under way around the grounds.

Barring quite a remarkable turn of events, Chelsea will be crowned champions for the fourth season in a row and Reading will be relegated to the Championship.

But that could all change... maybe.

  19. Great save to keep it goallesspublished at 15:31 British Summer Time 27 May 2023

    HT: Liverpool 0-0 Man Utd

    Rachel Brown-Finnis
    Ex-England goalkeeper on BBC One

It was a wonderful ball from Katie Zelem in added time.

Great run from Parris, sits up lovely and I'm sure Laws got a touch on that. She does enough, at full stretch.

She makes that goal a tad smaller and uses that wingspan to turn it round.

  20. Leicester closing in on safetypublished at 15:30 British Summer Time 27 May 2023

    HT: Brighton 0-0 Leicester

    Ben Miller
    BBC Sport at Broadfield Stadium

Willie Kirk and his Leicester backroom staff are still on the touchline discussing the first half - and, you imagine, Chelsea's lead over Reading which has put his side tantalisingly close to safety.

Brighton's under-21 squad are currently on a lap of honour around the pitch, soaking up the adulation for their Sussex Women's Challenge Cup triumph in March.
