Millie Turner has been the hero once already this season with her dramatic late winner over Aston Villa and she knew that was a big chance as she ran back with her face in her hands.

Ann-Katrin Berger had to react to the deflection and did so well but Emma Hayes is really not happy. She's giving her team intense instructions on the sidelines.

    Chelsea 0-0 Man Utd

    Big chance!

Free kick from near the half way line for United is pumped long, it isn't properly cleared and the loose ball falls to Millie Turner.

The centre back turns and shoots, it catches a deflection and Ann-Katrin Berger has to make a superb reflex save.

I don't want to say this game has become dull, but the crowd has begun a Mexican wave. After half an hour.

    Hmm.

Chelsea fancy themselves down the right-hand side and it looks like they are trying to get Lauren James one-on-one with Hannah Blundell. James has managed to get a few crosses in but on the whole, has been dealt with well by Blundell.

The crowd has quietened down too, just as the tempo of the game has.

I don't know the attendance yet, but I feel I can safely say the record of 49,094 from last season has been well beaten.

    Chelsea 0-0 Man Utd

Chelsea, not surprisingly, want to get Sam Kerr into play whenever possible. A key tactic is for the midfielders to play quick lofted through balls for the Australian to chase.

United keeper Mary Earps is positioning herself right on the edge of her area to be able to get out of goal quick and deal with those. It's fascinating to observe.

That chaotic early pace has died down, not surprisingly.

Ona Batlle races forward from right back, but her low cross is well cut out by Maren Mjelde.

    Chelsea 0-0 Man Utd

United will be delighted with these opening minutes. For all they are a team of experienced stars, a first FA Cup final for a club brings all sorts of new pressure.

It looks like they are dealing with that so far.

Eve Perisset fires it in, Maren Mjelde can't guide her header on target.

    Chelsea 0-0 Man Utd

Lauren James wins a free kick off Hannah Blundell right on the left corner of United penalty area and by line.

    A dangerous position...

After a frantic start, it's been a fairly tame 10 minutes. United look threatening with runners in behind though.

Chelsea haven't really been able to create anything yet and prolific duo Sam Kerr and Guro Reiten haven't had much involvement.

Emma Hayes is definitely pacing around more in the dugout and is in conversation with her assistants.

    Ex-England goalkeeper on BBC One

When Manchester United switch into attack mode they have two, three or four players flooding forward.

Chelsea are getting really compact and tight and it's making it difficult for United to get balls into the box.

    Chelsea 0-0 Man Utd

United win the ball back in midfield, Leah Galton streaks forward before finding Ella Toone, who finds Nikita Parris.

Chelsea eventually get players back, and Parris can only curl an effort into Ann-Katrin Berger's arms.

More signs of danger for Chelsea though. Emma Hayes was not happy at all to see her side concede possession like that.

  14. 'Put the flag up'published at 14:42 British Summer Time 14 May 2023

    Chelsea 0-0 Man Utd

It's frustrating for the fans and the players. Just put the flag up.

It invites other incidents that could happen that could have been stopped if the flag went up early.

    Chelsea 0-0 Man Utd

A very odd moment as Lauren James knows she is offside as a through ball is played, so she encourages Niamh Charles to sprint on to the ball.

Charles is slow getting there, so James tries shielding the ball - not touching it, but obviously interfering with play.

Eventually the assistant puts their flag up.

Chelsea have done well to ride it out early on because they were on the back foot just 20 seconds in.

Now a break in play as Melanie Leupolz goes down. Looks like a hamstring issue.

Chelsea manager Emma Hayes has gathered her troops to issue some emergency instructions. Her side have been on the back foot early on.

    Chelsea 0-0 Man Utd

    Rachel Corsie
Scotland and Aston Villa defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

The players will have enjoyed that start. They would have been nervous but moments like that can lift the Man Utd players.

    Chelsea 0-0 Man Utd

Slightly iffy moment for Chelsea keeper Ann-Katrin Berger, who came to meet a cross but punched it straight onto the head of Alessia Russo.

It fell to Nikita Parris but she couldn't respond in time, the ball flying off her for a goal kick.
