Journalist Isobel Cootes posted about her injury on Twitter

I went to Australia's final training session yesterday morning before their World Cup semi-final and there were at least 30 cameras set up around the perimeter, with triple the number of journalists there.

I met one reporter, Isobel Cootes, who celebrated their penalty shootout victory over France in the quarter-finals so much she dislocated her shoulder!

She's doing OK and was straight back to work yesterday, following their training session before going to Stadium Australia for the media conferences in the evening.

Australia boss Tony Gustavsson found out the news in an interview with Optus Sport, external and could not hide his shock. Once he knew she was OK, he burst out laughing. Can you blame him?

I doubt she was the only person to come away from that night with an injury...

Anon: Please Lord. An Australian win or we will have to listen to England's triumph for the next 60 years just like 1966.

Well, let's not get ahead of ourselves. Spain await the winner of this one in the final.

England captain Millie Bright on the prospect of facing Chelsea team-mate Sam Kerr: "I am approaching it in the same way as any other forward. We all know she is a world class striker, she has proved that on many occasions and doesn't need me to say it again.

"I think I thrive in any moment against any opponent but playing against the best is always a bonus."

On if she knows how to push Kerr's buttons: "Yes I would like to think so. [Any hints?] No. That's for me to know and you to find out in the game."

I think absolutely everyone in Australia wants Sam Kerr to start against England, because they have been starved of her so far due to injury.

    But I wouldn't start her.

You see the impact Salma Paralluelo had today for Spain, coming on and getting into defenders' heads, I think Kerr can have a bigger impact from the bench against England.

It could be a bit of kidology - put it into England's minds that idea of that battle between Millie Bright and Sam Kerr, Chelsea teammates.

Having said that, when we used to play alongside Kelly Smith for England we wanted her on the pitch. Half fit? Broken leg? Who cares! We wanted her on for the moments of magic she could provide.

So, both Alex Scott and Jonas Eidevall said it would be a risk to start Sam Kerr for Australia. Will it be worth it or will Tony Gustavsson come to rue his decision?

Sam Kerr at her normal level definitely has the ability to hurt England.

You saw against France that she was a little bit rusty in her movement.

That game wasn't that long ago, a couple of days, she played almost 60 minutes too.

I think it would be a big risk starting her back from a muscle injury.

It seems Tony Gustavsson hasn't paid much attention to your thoughts, Jonas.

Willow: I work in theatre, it's the dress rehearsal of our show tonight so all thrusters go but I will be keeping an eye on the game and cheering in the wings *when* we score. Come on you Lionesses!!!

    Sam Kerr starts!

That's the big talking point from the Australia starting line-up as the Chelsea superstar is in the XI for the first time at this tournament.

She comes in for Emily van Egmond, while Manchester City defender Alanna Kennedy drops to the bench having been ruled out through illness this morning.

Kennedy, who makes way for Clare Polkinghorne, will not be at the stadium tonight as she recovers.

Australia XI: Arnold, Polkinghorne, Catley, Foord, Fowler, Hunt, Raso, Gorry, Kerr, Carpenter, Cooney-Cross.

Subs: Williams, Micah, Nevin, Luik, Vine, Wheeler, Chidiac, Van Egmond, Yallop, Simon, Grant, Kennedy.

Mary Earps has grown into the role and she looks so confident, such a presence, really comfortable and commanding. Her shot stopping has been exceptional.

Australia really like to throw numbers forward so it will be a counter attacking transitional game so that may favour England because of the technical ability of this England side.

I feel confident England will embrace this moment, they love playing in front of crowds and they don’t care if it’s hostile.

Sarina Wiegman has named an unchanged England XI which means Chloe Kelly and Bethany England remain on the bench.

The two goalscorers against Colombia, Alessia Russo and Lauren Hemp, both start today having scored two goals at the tournament so far.

Lauren James remains suspended but if England win tonight, she will be available again for selection in the final.

England XI: Earps, Bronze, Bright, Greenwood, Carter, Daly, Walsh, Stanway, Toone, Russo, Hemp.

It will be difficult for England because they're playing against the home nation.

It's like they will be playing an away game and they've got to understand a lot of fans are going to be there against them.

It will be a different feeling for them but I think England are confident to play their game. They've changed the formation up, they've looked a lot more promising attacking wise and a bit stronger defensively as well.

Australia's players went for a pre-match walk around Sydney this morning, while the Lionesses had some quiet time near their hotel.

Fans across the city have been making their way towards Stadium Australia via pub crawls and using the local transport, which has been heavily decorated in yellow and green, throughout the day.

There were supporters queueing to get into the fan park in Sydney's city centre over five hours before kick-off.

Newspapers were covered with Matildas propaganda on the front and back of every national print publication this morning. Shops had sold out of Matildas merchandise around the city too.

It's fair to say Australia are very excited and as we headed into the stadium three hours before kick-off, the pubs around the Olympic Park were already filling up.

I think it is important that the Lionesses use psychology.

They are going into a different environment tomorrow, the crowd will be against them. There will be 80,000 against them.

Last summer they felt the roar of the crowd with them during the Euros, so they will need a completely different mindset.

This Australia crowd cheer every time the team kick the ball.

I was at their quarter-final with France and you hear a cheer and think 'Oh is this a scoring chance?'

But it was just an Australian player running with the ball in their own half! They were so loud.

The crowd is definitely going to be a factor in this game.

While the England team and their fans were already looking ahead to the prospect of adding another chapter to one of the most fiercely contested sporting rivalries, Australia was still basking in the glory of one of its greatest sporting moments.

The sight of their yellow-shirted players jumping in ecstasy was plastered over the country's front pages on Sunday, accompanied with headlines including "Magnifique Matildas" and "Mathrilldas".

Overnight viewing figures reported the biggest television audience for a sporting event in more than two decades, external - since Cathy Freeman won gold at the Sydney Olympics in 2000 - with an average of 4.23 million.

And that did not account for the hordes of fans who descended on the fan parks, congregated round large screens and met at the pub to cheer on the Matildas.

Watching at home in London, within earshot of Stamford Bridge (Sam Kerr will know it well!) with my Australian wife and our 11 month old daughter. We’ve been arguing all week whether she’s a Matilda or a Lioness (but we both know she’s a Lioness really…). I guess either way she wins today!
