When was Bright going to actually engage? She just dropped off until Kerr scored.

    Micki

Abject defending from Bright, wipe her out on halfway.

Sam Kerr, she scores when it counts.

Two versus one I thought, hang on a second she's going to waste this opportunity, but what a strike!

She hits it beautifully, it soars beyond the outstretched hand of Mary Earps.

Not much she could have done about that, a deflection off Millie Bright helped the ball on its way.

    SENSATIONAL EQUALISER!

This is incredible from Sam Kerr.

England lose the ball in Australia's half and the Matildas launch a devastating counter-attack.

Kerr drives them forward, running at Millie Bright before cutting inside and finding the top corner from miles out.

    We're level again!

    Rachel Brown-Finnis
    Ex-England goalkeeper on BBC One

    England have really limited Australia.

The discipline to attack the ball in and out of possession has been absolutely exemplary.

Poor ball from Steph Catley when we know the quality she has for Arsenal and Australia.

A couple of nervy moments for the Lionesses as Australia pepper them with cross after cross.

Each one though is headed firmly away.

I'm really enjoying the performance of Lauren Hemp.

She is effervescent, running around and causing chaos everywhere, challenging every 50-50 ball.

The two centre backs for Australia are getting worked so hard, their legs are really going to hurt after this.

  9. Postpublished at 61 mins

Fewer than 30 minutes to go. England have played this one perfectly so far.

    Lydia talks into the microphone

Over in Manchester, our reporter Emily Brown is watching the match with members of England's goal-scorer Ella Toone's childhood football club.

Three young players watching the match said they were amazed by the display.

"I was just screaming," said Lydia. "It was the best goal I've ever seen, I loved it."

"She did amazing with all the pressure, all the fans watching. Even with just small people watching you, expecting so much for you, it's a lot to take in," said Larissa.

"It was a cracking goal," Matilda added. "She's been working really hard during the World Cup."

Another young fan said she was hugging her friend as the ball went in, nearly crying.

Lauren Hemp is up top with Alessia Russo, England have gone for a classic 4-4-2. The pair are pressing well and causing all sorts of discomfort for the Australian defenders.

We thought that header from Millie Bright was going in. It was such a big chance. She was under pressure but she towered over everyone and probably should be testing the goalkeeper at least.

Excellent positional discipline from England's back three here.

Jess Carter has been outstanding, her and Bright taking turns to marshall Sam Kerr, always a body on her.
