Even before the TV companies start working out which matches they want to screen on what days, we know some games will be moved anyway.

West Ham, Liverpool, Brighton have all qualified for the Europa League group phase so six matches immediately after those games will be moved to the following Sunday or Monday.

In addition, Aston Villa have Europa Conference League qualifiers on 24 and 31 August and - if successful - will then go into the group, so up to eight pre-Christmas matches will be shifted.

And Man City v Brentford on 23 December will be postponed as clashes with World Club Cup in Saudi Arabia.

At this stage, the various broadcasters have only announced their picks for the opening weekend.

Croatia are one win from their first major title after beating hosts the Netherlands in a dramatic Uefa Nations League semi-final.

Substitute Bruno Petkovic struck from distance in extra time before Luka Modric's penalty settled a remarkable game in Rotterdam.

A 96th-minute Dutch equaliser from Noa Lang had denied Croatia in normal time.

But Zlatko Dalic's side will now play Italy or Spain in Sunday's final, while the Dutch face a third-place play-off.

Mount joined Chelsea's academy at the age of six and had loan spells with Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem and Derby County before making his first-team debut in August 2019.

For three seasons he was a first-team regular, helping the Blues win the Champions League in 2020-21, but his number of Premier League starts for 2022-23 dropped to 20.

Mount missed the end of the domestic season with injury as Chelsea finished 12th, leaving him with 33 goals from 195 appearances for the Blues.

Chelsea have been in contract talks with Mount for much of last season but the club has spent £600m over the past two transfer windows and needs to sell before 30 June to ease Financial Fair Play concerns.

Mount made his senior England debut in September 2019, helping them reach the Euro 2020 final - played in 2021 - and he now has five goals from 36 caps.

I reckon they should only arrange the first half of fixtures - then when match day 19 is complete, issue the second half but with all the possible top sides & bottom sides playing each other in April/May making the run in really tense.

  10. Man Utd have £40m Mount bid rejectedpublished at 08:26 British Summer Time 15 June 2023

Manchester United have had a £40m bid for Chelsea's Mason Mount turned down.

United manager Erik ten Hag has identified Mount, 24, as someone who can bolster his attacking options.

However, given the England international has only a year left on his contract, United do not feel Chelsea's £70m valuation is realistic.

The Old Trafford outfit are likely to make another offer for the attacking midfielder but are mindful of their overall transfer budget this summer.

  11. Women's World Cup broadcast dealpublished at 08:22 British Summer Time 15 June 2023

All 64 matches from the tournament will be broadcast in the UK on either the BBC or ITV, except for the final on 20 August, which will be shown across both BBC One and ITV1.

The BBC will also broadcast live audio commentary on BBC Radio 5 Live and 5 Sports Extra, with fans able to listen to 5 Live coverage on BBC Sounds, DAB radio and the BBC Sport website and app.

Barbara Slater, director of BBC Sport, said: "We have shown every Women's World Cup on the BBC since 1999 and we are happy to extend our partnership with Fifa for the upcoming tournament.

"The growth of the women's game is extraordinary, demonstrated by the 28 million who watched BBC coverage of the 2019 Women's World Cup and the huge audience of 17.4 million who watched our coverage of the Euro 2022 final last summer on TV.

"In partnership with ITV, we are delighted to make this World Cup available to the widest possible audience and free to air."

  13. BBC & ITV agree Women's World Cup deal with Fifapublished at 08:09 British Summer Time 15 June 2023

The BBC and ITV have agreed a deal with Fifa to broadcast the Women's World Cup in the UK, five weeks before the tournament begins on 20 July.

Fifa president Gianni Infantino had threatened a European TV blackout if rights offers were not improved.

But the deal with football's governing body will allow domestic viewers to watch matches when the tournament begins in Australia and New Zealand.

European champions England first play in Brisbane on 22 July against Haiti.

  16. 'We thank Jude, it was a fantastic time'published at 08:00 British Summer Time 15 June 2023

    Jude BellinghamImage source, Getty Images

Bellingham is also Real Madrid's second-most expensive signing, after Eden Hazard's 115m euro move from Chelsea in 2019, and the third-most expensive teenager in history.

Paris St-Germain paid Monaco 180m euros for France forward Mbappe in 2018, while it cost Atletico Madrid 126m euros to sign Joao Felix from Benfica in 2019.

Bellingham excelled at Dortmund where, in October last year, he made history by becoming the club's youngest captain aged 19.

He played 42 times for his club in 2022-23 - scoring 14 goals and registering seven assists.

"We thank Jude for three years of passion for Borussia Dortmund. It was a fantastic time together," Dortmund chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke said.

"We would also like to thank Real Madrid for the always fair and constructive discussions."

  17. 'Once a Borusse, always a Borusse'published at 07:54 British Summer Time 15 June 2023

    Jude BellinghamImage source, Getty Images

Bellingham paid tribute in to Dortmund in a goodbye message on their website.

"Thank you to everyone at BVB [Dortmund] and to the fans for everything over the past three years," Bellingham said.

"It's been an honour to wear your jersey so many times, in big and small moments.

"Even though I look forward to my next destination, I will never forget the journey there. Once a Borusse, always a Borusse. All the best for the future."

One of England's top performers at last year's World Cup, Bellingham was named the Bundesliga's player of the season as Dortmund missed out on a first league title in 11 years on the final day.

The initial fee means he becomes the second-most expensive English footballer after Jack Grealish, for whom Manchester City paid Aston Villa £100m in 2021.

  18. Bellingham joins Real Madrid on a six-year-dealpublished at 07:49 British Summer Time 15 June 2023

    Jude BellinghamImage source, Getty Images

Real Madrid have completed the signing of England midfielder Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund on a six-year deal.

The Spanish giants will pay 103m euros (£88.5m) for the 19-year-old, in addition to various potential add-ons.

If those add-ons are achieved, the deal could reach 133.9m euros (£115m).

Bellingham, who started his career at Birmingham City, will be presented as a Real Madrid player at a ceremony on Thursday.
