They've nullified one of the most creative teams in the Premier League last season to very few chances this afternoon, so hats off to them for how they have prepared for this match.

With us still in the first half of August and lots of cricket and other Summer sport still to be played, I just can’t get interested in Premier League football yet. Anybody else feel that way?

The Serbia striker gets a rousing reception from the travelling supporters with chants on "Mitro, Mitro, Mitro." when he enters the pitch in place of Raul Jimenez.

The woodwork comes to Everton's rescue as debutant Raúl Jiménez's snapshot beats Jordan Pickford but comes back off the post.
The closest yet to a goal but that's it for Jimenez, he is replaced by last season's top scorer Aleksandar Mitrovic.
