West Ham are having a few chances and playing well. Not missing Declan Rice and Lucas P is on full throttle despite MCFC interest.

Sulaimon: Maupay is not taking his chances, he should have a brace by now. He will definitely return to the bench once Calvert Lewin returns.

  2. 'Game getting stretched'published at 15:42 British Summer Time 12 August 2023

    Brighton 1-0 Luton

    Steve Sidwell
Former Villa and Brighton midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

This game seems to be just getting stretched a little bit.

Brighton would do well to take advantage and get another goal.

Another Brighton goal just before half time would be a sucker punch for Luton.

    Brighton 1-0 Luton

Danny Welbeck could have a hat-trick here.

Kaoru Mitoma beats his man on the left and can pick his next option. He goes with a low ball to Welbeck, who allows the ball to roll across to him to beat one man but then sees a shot blocked.

    Bournemouth 0-0 West Ham

    Decent effort!

David Brooks has been in good form in pre-season and he forces a save from Alphonse Areola with a low shot from the edge of the box.

    Brighton 1-0 Luton

Again, Danny Welbeck fails to convert a good opening.

Kaoru Mitoma weaves into space on the left and finds the forward in the box but his control lets him down and the ball sneaks under his boot.

Nick: This "little Luton" thing from pundits has got to stop. It's not testament to Luton that we're not being thrashed by Brighton within half an hour. It's just expected from a fellow premier league side.

Lifa: Despite the fact that they are going toe toe with a very good Brighton side, a lot of those Luton players look like they spend most of their evenings in the pub. They just give you those “social soccer” kind of vibes.

  8. 'Luton have still threatened'published at 15:39 British Summer Time 12 August 2023

    Brighton 1-0 Luton

    Chris Sutton
Former Chelsea striker on Final Score

It is a great cross and as a striker they always tell you to head it back across the goalkeeper.

I think Brighton just about deserve it but Luton have carried their own threat.

  9. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 15:39 British Summer Time 12 August 2023

    Brighton 1-0 Luton

    This has come to life!

Brighton are inches from making it 2-0 as Danny Welbeck stretches to steer Joao Pedro's low cross against the post.

    He should have scored.

    Brighton 1-0 Luton

    Will Perry

It's really good work from Kaoru Mitoma. It's a beautiful cross and the simplest of finishes for March.

    It is Brighton who lead.

    Brighton 1-0 Luton

    Steve Sidwell

There were a lot of bodies in the box but it fell to Solly March.

De Zerbi went absolutely nuts, he thought the chance had gone.

But Mitoma managed to get the ball through to March who somehow got the side of his head on it.

After an energetic start, Sheffield United have gone into their shell.

The crowd are getting frustrated as Crystal Palace sweep forward with ease. Eberechi Eze is finding space in key areas. No great chances to speak of, but it feels like a matter of time until the visitors strike.

  15. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 15:36 British Summer Time 12 August 2023

    Everton 0-0 Fulham

Michael Keane sweeps home a loose ball following an Everton corner but it is immediately ruled out for a foul on Bernd Leno as he had tried to catch the ball before a clash sent him tumbling to the ground.

The Everton fans are booing but VAR backs up the referee's decision. No goal.
