Newcastle have been very good, especially Tonali, but from a Villa perspective there have been too many missed chances and some really bad performances from Cash, Digne and Bailey. Worrying.

I'm absolutely loving Tonali today.
Just everything he does, his cross-field balls, his comfort and confidence on the ball - he has the arrogance of Pirlo on the ball.
He's adding something else as well, he's going forward, he's chasing down, he's making tackles.
Today he looks like the total and absolute complete midfielder.

I think Gordon had a really good game today.
He annoys defenders, he annoys sometimes opposing supporters, as an ex-Evertonian he annoys them as well.
But his work rate and skill were superb today and he can be proud of what he's done today.

What a bench Newcastle now have, even with Willock injured. Wilson and Barnes on to give Villa some more grief.

Matty Cash missed that really big chance but otherwise Nick Pope has had little to do for much of this half.
If they can get a goal back soon it would make for an interesting finish.

Villa will flatter to deceive this season, based on this performance. People need to give Newcastle their dues, they won't just be top 6, they'll be pushing City.

First of all it is an open goal.
Yes it is coming at him at some pace but it is an incredible chance.
Cash has also just run to meet that full pace ball while running at full pace, so it is hard to get that on target.
But he will know that was a great chance for Villa.
