Pau Torres is on then for his Aston Villa debut, replacing the injured Tyrone Mings, whose leg is strapped up pretty heavily before he is taken off on the stretcher.
That really doesn't look good for Mings and Newcastle fans stand along with Villa supporters to applaud him off the pitch.

Diaby and Watkins are linking up very well and that is why Newcastle have had to defend quite a bit.
They've had some defending to do, but they'd HAD to do defending [because of Villa's threat].

Tyrone Mings' injury came after he went for the ball with Alexander Isak. He's still lying down on the pitch with a couple of the Aston Villa medical staff in attendance.
It looks like he's going to have to go off with Pau Torres getting ready to come on.

It does look a very physical midfield now. Bruno Guimaraes is physical, Tonali is too, and we know Joelinton is a big presence.
I think Newcastle fans are going to enjoy watching that midfield this season.

Douglas Luiz gets back to stop a Newcastle attack and then Aston Villa counter quickly. Moussa Diaby squares for Ollie Watkins but he shoots wide under pressure.
Tyrone Mings is down injured and this looks a real concern for Villa.

Early season pressure for Newcastle. They have to win as many games as possible before the CL starts as they are going to find it very difficult playing twice a week against top drawer opposition.
