I'm sorry but this is absolutely shambolic from United. Slow, aimless, just punting the ball around the pitch hoping it finds a red shirt. Rashford unable to beat a man. Fernandes moaning yet producing equally turgid football. Sunday league stuff. No improvement since 2013.

    Graham

To be fair to United, they started last season like this and at one point looked like they'd be challenging for the title. Fans might be less patient this season though!

You can't argue that they don't deserve it, Tottenham have been excellent in this second half.

This is the Tottenham that the fans want to see. United may have shaded the first half but Tottenham have definitely been the better side in the second.

GOAL - Tottenham 2-0 Man Utdpublished at 83 mins

    Ben Davies

Tottenham wrap up the three points!

A terrible goal to concede as far as Manchester United are concerned as Ivan Perisic is left unmarked on the left flank, he sends a low ball into the box, Ben Davies gets an ever so slight touch but then Lisandro Martinez gets a bigger touch to divert the ball into the net.

It goes down as a Davies goal.

Wrong decision by Lisandro Martínez as he plays a ball into the box to no-one and Tottenham are happy to eat up a few more seconds.

For me Bruno Fernandes is the weakest link. No way near captain level. Not for me and not in my United team.

    Steve

Don't think I've sworn so much in frustration at Utd in a long time.

We are going to get embarrassed in the Champions League by even lesser teams.

Good idea from Ben Davies as he stabs the ball into the box, Dejan Kulusevski chases after it but just can't quite keep it in play.

Tottenham are looking pretty comfortable as we enter the closing stages.

Brilliant, a lot of energy, was easy to see why Postecoglou picked him to start.

Loves to get forward and join in. A very good performance him and Bissouma in the middle.

    A bright future.

Pape Matar Sarr has been outstanding in this game. He's not just got the goal but he strides across now to slide and deflect the ball out for a throw as Marcus Rashford tried to break down the line.

Crikey. Almost comedic defending as Christian Eriksen slips as he tries to pass on the edge of the area and Raphael Varane has to go safety first and put behind for a corner.

Manchester United are looking bang average, as they did against Wolves. If they continue this throughout the season they’ll struggle in Europe and can’t see them getting top 4.

    Chris

Reshad: Spurs have a clear identity in 2 games with their new manager. Man United don't have any clear plan, and are lacking any players in the midfield that can overpower the opposition.

Shane: Zero bite up front, fragile and stretched in midfield, and brittle in defence, it's not looking too promising for United

Ange has really messed up Spurs from the looks of things. If they’re not careful people might start taking them seriously.

Watching Bissouma today and last week, what were (all) the Spurs managers doing last year! He barely got a game, he’s been a joy these 2 matches.

No goal today for Richarlison as he is going off. He doesn't look happy either, no doubt with his own performance as he has been too quiet again.

Manchester City make two changes from the side that beat Sevilla on penalties to win the Uefa Super Cup in Athens on Wednesday.

Ruben Dias replaces Nathan Ake in the centre of defence, while Julian Alvarez is preferred to Cole Palmer in attack.

Injuries and illness means City have a youthful-looking bench, and five of their eight replacement outfield players are academy graduates aged 21 or under.

Man City XI: Ederson, Walker, Dias, Akanji, Gvardiol, Rodri, Kovacic, Foden, Alvarez, Haaland, Grealish

Subs: Ortega, Phillips, Ake, Gomez, Perrone, Bobb, Palmer, Lewis McAtee

Newcastle name the same starting XI that thumped Aston Villa 5-1 on the opening weekend.

That means summer signings Harvey Barnes and Valentino Livramento have to wait for their first start for the Magpies - they are both on the bench again, with striker Callum Wilson also among their substitutes.

Newcastle XI: Pope, Trippier. Schar, Botman, Burn, Tonali, Guimaraes, Joelinton, Almiron, Isak, Gordon.

Subs: Dubravaka, Lascelles, Wilson, Ritchie, Targett, Barnes, Livramento, Anderson, Longstaff.
