Everton defenders were retreating and that is terrific play on the edge of the box, Cameron Archer has definitely settled into this United team.

The fans will be excited to see this player.

From one down to 2-1 up. Gustavo Hamer plays a pass to Cameron Archer and he has scored one and so nearly gets a second.

He chops in on to his right foot and curls a brilliant effort at goal from outside the penalty area. The ball bounces off the right-hand post, and it rebounds off the back of Jordan Pickford and into the net.

It will go down as an own goal for the England keeper, but he didn't know much about it. Archer scored one, made one.

Everton play so many six pointers, if they were any good they could be the first team to get more than 114 points in a season.

Nicholas: Not sure if this is a good Championship game or a bad Premier League game.

Beto is looking a decent addition for Everton and his flicked clever pass with the outside of the boot releases Arnaut Danjuma but his heavy touch in the penalty area enables Was Foderingham to dive at his feet and gather the ball.

Sean Dyche is furious with the wasted chance, but would've enjoyed the Beto pass.

Armchair fan: Sheffield United deserved that. Created some problems for themselves but the better overall side so far in this game. Still worry they won't score enough though. Meanwhile Everton should be concerned by this typical Dyche performance so far.

What a moment for Cameron Archer, who only joined Sheffield United in an £18m deal from Aston Villa on Sunday.

Aged 21 years and 267 days, he becomes the youngest English player to score on his first Premier League start since Matty Longstaff for Newcastle against Man Utd in October 2019 (19 years 199 days).

I think Luton and Sheffield United will definitely go back down. In terms of the other place I think it's one from four including Everton and Burnley.

    Alan

Why are people already deciding who will be going down? We're not even 10% of the way through the season yet. Lighten up and enjoy the football.

This is what Sheffield United are all about when they get going.

Getting the ball into a good area, McBurnie keeps his cool, that is a good finish and a really well worked goal.

    Brilliant goal for the Blades.

We're level. Sheffield United cross from the right, Oliver McBurnie, with his back to goal, does well to control it and cushion a pass for Cameron Archer, who hits it first time and curls it into the net to give Jordan Pickford no chance.

    Lovely strike.

I'm an Everton fan. I'm certainly not hopeful this season. Useless squad, worse recruitment. We'll have a nice stadium in League One though.

    Dan

FW: The only reason Everton will stay up is because of Luton, Sheffield United and Burnley. The way they are going I am tipping them three to go back down.

Loose from Sheffield United as they give it away to Arnaut Danjuma, but he can't make the home side pay as he can only fire wide.

    Blades need to sharpen up.

Everton have ended a run of 316 minutes without a Premier League goal since Abdoulaye Doucoura also scored v Bournemouth on the final day of last season.

  15. GREAT SAVE!published at 22 mins

    Sheffield United 0-1 Everton

So close to an equaliser. Gustavo Hamer, at the heart of Sheffield United's best work so far, strikes low and it would've curled just inside the post but Jordan Pickford got down quickly to his left to get a hand to it and keep it out.

Nearly two. Arnaut Danjuma gets the ball, charges at goal, comes inside on to his right foot, but his strike is deflected away for another corner. Sheffield United defend it better than they did for the first goal of the game.

No, Sheffield United cannot get the goal when on top and Everton take the lead.

Abdoulaye Doucoure, the scorer of the final goal last season, scores Everton's first for this campaign.

Everton strike first. A corner from the right finds its way to Amadou Onana, he heads at goal, Abdoulaye Doucoure gets a touch, Wes Foderingham can only parry it with Doucoure finishing the rebound from close-range.

A mention too for Beto on his Premier League debut, whose curling effort took a deflection to win the corner.

Sheffield United have made a terrific start to this game and it's lifting the crowd.

They are really getting behind the Blades and the atmosphere is starting to build at Bramall Lane.

On top, can they grab a goal though?
