Man Utd manager Erik ten Hag, speaking to Sky Sports: "It was a good night, we played quite well and dominated the game.
"That's what we are looking for.
"If you don't win, of course there is frustration and disappointment and the mood is then dropping. But the spirit was always good, the togetherness was there and is there - you could see that today.
"We made a step forward at Burnley with how we defend, the togetherness and today on the ball we made another step.
"Still a lot to come but we're moving forward."
On Sofyan Amrabat at left-back: "I know he's capable of that. He's a player who gives the team what they need and makes a contribution.
"He has quality as well as energy and the dynamic he brings."
On Mason Mount: "He's returning from an injury and we have to build this up.
"Go too quickly and you get a drop, we want to avoid that. I think his performance was very good."
On Harry Maguire: "He was very solid, just as you can expect."
On standout performers: "We had many young players on the pitch and you see they are progressing.
"With me, you don't just get the opportunity, you have to deserve it. Those players who were coming on - Hannibal, Garnacho, Pellistri, Dan Gore - they deserve it and they have to show it every day in training.
"Then you get an opportunity and have to take it."
On Jadon Sancho: "I don't talk about players who are not available. It's up to him."

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has confirmed Mason Mount's departure at half-time was 'pre-planned'.
Mount was making his reappearance after five games out through injury.
That is good news on a good night for United fans.
FT: Salford 0-4 Burnley
Burnley
Burnley boss Vincent Kompany speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live:
"I think we were quite happy to have the game, we had 14 new players at the start of the season so these kind of games are massive.
"We looked like a team so that's a good win away from home and we've given ourselves another round to look forward to.
"It was disciplined for 95 minutes. We're still looking to bring a team together, so you have to look for positives - for us, it was the discipline, organisation, we didn't give chances away and we created enough for the goals we scored."

Burnley's second string team brushed off League Two strugglers Salford to cruise into the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.
The Clarets, who are yet to win in the Premier League this season, made 11 changes from Saturday's defeat by Manchester United.
Vincent Kompany's side took an early lead as Sander Berge was left free in the box to head home from Anass Zaroury's corner.
Jacob Bruun Larsen then dinked the ball over Alex Cairns from Zaroury's pass.
Dara O'Shea pounced from close range to put the result beyond any doubt after 27 minutes as Salford's defence failed to deal with a left-wing ball from the lively Zaroury.
They had to wait an additional 54 minutes to get their final goal with 18-year-old Frenchman Wilson Odobert smashing home on his first start in English football.
None of the four scorers had netted for Burnley before. Zaroury had a hand in all four goals.

Amazing what getting a few first team players back from injury does to a team, it is almost as if Man Utd are a completely different side and those injuries impacted their early season form. Who knew?

FT: Ipswich Town 3-2 Wolves
Championship high-flyers Ipswich Town stunned Premier League Wolves as they fought back from two goals down to reach the Carabao Cup fourth round.
Jack Taylor's spectacular long-range strike completed the turnaround at Portman Road as Ipswich reached the last-16 for the first time since 2010.
Hwang Hee-chan and Toti had put Wolves in control after just 15 minutes.
But goals from Omari Hutchinson and Freddie Ladapo ensured the hosts ended an entertaining first half level.

Demetri Mitchell scored a late winner and was then sent off as League One Exeter City upset Premier League Luton in the third round of the Carabao Cup.
Cauley Woodrow hit the post early on as Luton dominated the first-half possession but were frustrated by Exeter.
Mitchell had a great chance saved by Luton keeper Tim Krul after an hour as Exeter posed more of a threat after the break.
Luton's Jacob Brown twice went close with headers before Mitchell struck in the 83rd minute as the former Manchester United youngster finished Yanic Wildschut's cross at the far post.
Mitchell was sent off five minutes later for a second yellow card, but Exeter held on to progress to the fourth round for the first time in 34 years and earn their first victory over a top flight side since beating Leicester 3-1 in the FA Cup in 1981

Manchester United's Sofyan Amrabat, speaking to Sky Sports: "I think it was the perfect night. We played very well and most importantly won 3-0.
"I played for an hour so I think [it was] a perfect night."
On making his debut: "Since I was a child, I worked for this. I worked very hard my whole career, my whole life for this. To play here is amazing.
"It's Tuesday and the stadium is full, it's fantastic."
On playing left-back: "I told the manager I would play wherever he needs me, wherever the team need me, even if it's goalkeeper.
"I'll play where I can help the team. Today it was left-back but I had a bit of a free role and I played a lot in the midfield. It was nice.
"I like to touch the ball and have it always. I'm not a left-back that will play from the line. I tried to give the team an extra option.
"I'll play where the team needs me, I prefer to play in midfield but if it's left-back, it's left-back."
On his fitness: "I'm not at my best at the moment because I've not had a perfect pre-season and a little injury.
"I've trained really hard the last two or three weeks to get to 100% but I need games. If you play games you get stronger and better.
"It's not been the most easy time but it's clear United is a huge club. The pressure is high but we want this. We want to win and we'll push very hard to win and give the fans much more."
FT: Port Vale 2-1 Sutton United
Port Vale reached the fourth round of the Carabao Cup for just the second time in their history as they left it late to see off the EFL's bottom club Sutton United.
Josh Thomas put Vale ahead just after half-time and, after Hisham Kasimu equalised on 70 minutes, Funso Ojo came off the bench to win it with a 20-yard blast late on.
On their best run in the competition since reaching the EFL, Sutton had ousted League One opposition in the previous two rounds but have claimed just one point in eight league matches since winning on the opening day.
Vale will be in the hat along with the big guns for Wednesday's draw, with last-16 ties set to take place in the week commencing 30 October.
FT: Bradford 0-2 Middlesbrough
Championship side Middlesbrough cruised past League Two Bradford City to reach the Carabao Cup fourth round.
Emmanuel Latte Lath gave the away side a deserved lead when his low shot went by Bantams goalkeeper Harry Lewis, who seemed to misjudge the striker's effort.
Lewis made some amends for his error on Latte Lath's goal with a super reaction save from the Ivorian's close-range header.
Boro did double their lead shortly after the restart when Morgan Rogers converted Riley McGree's cross and they comfortably saw the game out from there.
Michael Carrick's men had ended their wait for a first league win of the season with a 2-1 home victory over Southampton on Saturday and never looked in danger of slipping up in West Yorkshire.
Bradford, who are 11th in League Two, will now turn their attention back to their league campaign and a home match against Walsall on Saturday.

Holders Manchester United cruised into the Carabao Cup fourth round with a comfortable victory over Crystal Palace in their all-Premier League encounter at Old Trafford.
First-half goals from Alejandro Garnacho and Casemiro set United on their way to a place in the last 16, with the Brazilian providing the cross for Anthony Martial's clinical first-time effort 10 minutes after the restart.
Having faced various forms of chaos in the last few weeks, this was the kind of straightforward night United manager Erik ten Hag must have longed for as his side completed the biggest win of a season in which they have struggled so far.
The only blemish came when Mason Mount was replaced at half-time after missing the five previous fixtures through injury.
Mansfield 2-2 Peterborough (Mansfield win 3-1 on penalties)
Mansfield beat League One Peterborough on penalties to reach the fourth round of the EFL Cup for only the second time in their history.
Stags goalkeeper Christy Pym saved efforts from Jonson Clarke Harris and Ronnie Edwards to set it up for Davis Keillor-Dunn to smash home the winner.
The League Two team took the lead after just five minutes when Will Swan calmly clipped a penalty down the middle after he had been felled in the area.
Clarke-Harris levelled for the Posh with a firmly hit free-kick which bounced just in front of Pym, and the striker then tapped in a second after the break to give the visitors the lead.
But Lucas Akins' injury-time penalty sent the tie to spot kicks, where the home side held their nerve.
Mansfield who are unbeaten in all competitions this season, are now in the draw for the fourth round of the League Cup for the first time since 1975.
Today's results...
And these are tomorrow's fixtures...
FT: Ipswich 3-2 Wolves
Ipswich manager Kieran McKenna on BBC 5 Live: "I am really proud of the players. It has been a few years since the club has faced Premier League opposition. To go down 2-0 down so early on we needed to show our character and bravery to keep being aggresive on and off the ball.
"We deservedly grew back into the game and it was a great way to win it in the second-half.
"We are getting tested every week in the Championship, it is a big step up and one of our goals was to get a Premier League club and to test ourselves. It is a good marker for us and good experience from the players."
On what it means to the fans: "It is a good value ticket and we appreciate the fans coming with numbers, it is up to us to give performances and give them a team to be proud of. The connection is great between staff, owners and fans.
"It is up to us to keep working hard and building them connections."
On who he wants to face next: "Still some big teams in the competition and it will be great for the team. Whoever we get we will be happy that we are still in the competition."

Hodgson has been massively let down by Parish and the board in the summer transfer window. Gaping holes in the squad yet go and spend £20m on a keeper who is not going to play. Simply not good enough from the board.

Well deserved victory for Manchester United it could not have gone better for Ten Hag.
Crystal Palace did get better in the game and they did get a couple of shots in the latter stages. Manchester United did not have to use Bruno Fernandes or Marcus Rashford, I think Crystal Palace will be happy to get out of here and back to London.

Luton fan leaving St James Park. Got what we deserved for a toothless performance. Well done, Exeter. We'll probably go and win at Everton on Saturday now, because that's what football does, but that may be the insane optimism of the football fan grasping at straws ahead of a long journey home.

Mansfield 2-2 Peterborough (Mansfield win 3-1 on penalties)
Josh Knight has fired wide for Peterborough and Davis Keillor-Dunn sends Nicholas Bilokapic the wrong way to give Mansfield a 3-1 victory to move into the fourth round of the League Cup for only the second time.
Jonson Clarke-Harris, who scored twice in normal time, had his effort saved by Mansfield keeper Christy Pym, who also stopped Ronnie Edwards' penalty too.
Man Utd 3-0 Crystal Palace
A perfect night for Manchester United.
They've won comfortably, bossed the game, boosted confidence and got some minutes in previously-injured legs.
