  1. goal

GOAL - Ipswich Town 3-2 Wolvespublished at 58 mins

    Jack Taylor

Wonderful strike from Ipswich's Jack Taylor. From 2-0 down to 3-2 up!

Taylor collects the ball and he's almost 30 yards out and he hits a beautiful effort, it's too quick for Daniel Bentley and dips in just under the crossbar.

What a game! Premier League Wolves in danger of being on the end of an upset.

  2. CLOSE!published at 21:03 British Summer Time 26 September 2023

Jonson Clarke-Harris nearly grabs a hat-trick. He sprints in from the right flank, gets the ball on his left foot, curls at goal but it is just wide of the post.

    Exeter City 0-0 Luton Town

    Brent Pilnick
BBC Sport at St James Park

Exeter have started this second half a lot brighter with the busy Demetri Mitchell blasting a shot over from distance.

The Grecians have played some nice passing football at times as Luton have failed to create a chance since the restart.

You wonder how much longer Rob Edwards will keep it like this before he brings on the likes of Carlton Morris or Chiedozie Ogbene to try to get a goal for Luton.

  4. Postpublished at 21:01 British Summer Time 26 September 2023

    Salford 0-3 Burnley

    Emlyn Begley
    BBC Sport at Peninsula Stadium

The stand behind the goal is rocking as Salford have their best chance of the game, even though Conor McAleny is tackled before he can get his shot away. Still it's something to shout about.

  5. HITS THE WOODWORK - Peterboroughpublished at 21:00 British Summer Time 26 September 2023

    Mansfield 1-2 Peterborough

Nearly a third for Posh. Harrison Burrows swings in an excellent corner, it falls to Peter Kioso central and close to goal but his header bounces off the crossbar.

Lamar: This has to be the most entertaining half from Man Utd all season. Amrabat is just everywhere while Casemiro is a joy to watch.

Phil: Exquisite ganache on bake off, exquisite Garnacho for United!

    Middlesbrough double their lead!

They work the ball down the right, Riley McGree plays a low ball into the box and Morgan Rogers is there to finish.

The ball hits the post then the bar before settling in the back of the net. Boro in control.

  9. Postpublished at 20:57 British Summer Time 26 September 2023

    Salford 0-3 Burnley

    Emlyn Begley
    BBC Sport at Peninsula Stadium

Burnley have gone close twice in the second half already. Salford almost scored an own goal and then Wilson Odobert was denied by Alex Cairns' legs.

  10. Impressive Amrabatpublished at 20:55 British Summer Time 26 September 2023

    Man Utd 2-0 Crystal Palace

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport at Old Trafford

It is more by accident than design but Sofyan Amrabat has excelled in the inverted left-back role.

He gets about the pitch quickly, spots danger and is not scared to advance into more forward positions.

This has been a cruise for Manchester United so far.

A fresh crisis looks like being averted.

  11. goal

GOAL - Port Vale 1-0 Suttonpublished at 20:54 British Summer Time 26 September 2023

    Josh Thomas

The deadlock is broken early in the second half!

Vale nick the ball as a Sutton corner fails to deliver and set off on the counter. Josh Thomas sets off. He has a defender for company but beats him for pace before finishing low across goal. Lovely stuff.

  12. goal

GOAL - Mansfield 1-2 Peterboroughpublished at 47 mins

    Jonson Clarke-Harris (Peterborough)

From one down to 2-1 up. Jonson Clarke-Harris gets his second of the night to put Peterborough ahead within two minutes of the restart.

Peter Kioso's shot is going in but blocked on the line by a home defender only for the clearance to rebound in off the closing in Clarke-Harris.

As per usual people doubt an injury stricken United who have a few off par games then suddenly players come back and we start winning and performing again? How would all the other PL teams cope with a dozen Injuries?

Amrabat supposed to be left-back. He is everywhere tonight won't be surprised if he's in goal second half. Work rate has been phenomenal!

All I can think about is Gary Neville’s famous commentary line “Where do you want your statue Vincent Kompany” as the latter smashes the former’s club out of the cup.

Seems to be a lot more of a work ethic to United tonight, particularly from Amrabat and Pellistri. Encouraging to see.
