  1. Thanks and goodbye

    FT: France 0-0 Jamaica

That ends day four and these are the results today (click on the match to read the report)...

Monday has another three games to look forward to.

    • Group G: Italy v Argentina (07:00 BST)
    • Group H: Germany v Morocco (09:30 BST)
    • Group F: Brazil v Panama (12:00 BST)

Thanks for joining us today and hope you can join us again tomorrow.

  2. Benzina set to make history on World Cup day five

    Nouhaila Benzina

History could be made on day five of the Fifa Women's World Cup if Nouhaila Benzina plays for Morocco.

The 25-year-old defender will become the first player to wear a hijab, the Islamic headscarf, at a World Cup if she features against one of the tournament favourites, Germany.

That is the second game of the day, with Italy facing Argentina, who are trying to win their first World Cup match, earlier in the morning.

Brazil have won all eight of their World Cup openers and get their tournament under way against debutants Panama.

  3. 'Story of the tournament so far'

    FT: France 0-0 Jamaica

    Eniola Aluko

    Former England forward on ITV1

This has been the story of the World Cup so far, the debutants are pushing the higher ranked nations. Jamaica ranked 43rd in the world pushed France ranked fifth in the world.

The gap is much smaller [than what it was]. We questioned earlier, if they just had that support, could they do even more?

    An outstanding performance from Jamaica.

  4. Great scenes

  5. 'Huge point despite blow of Shaw red card'

    FT: France 0-0 Jamaica

    Eniola Aluko

    Former England forward on ITV1

It's an absolutely brilliant point for Jamaica, there is no getting away from that.

This is a team that are four years on from their first World Cup, and they are clearly more experienced and have much more nouse about them.

But it is very disappointing to lose Shaw to a red card for the next game. They're facing Panama and that is a game they would have been looking at winning in what is a difficult group.

She knows what is coming once she has made the challenge on Renard, and knows it is a silly one to make.

  6. 'France attacking play was disappointing'

    FT: France 0-0 Jamaica

    Karen Carney

    Former England midfielder on ITV1

I must say I was really disappointed with France's attacking play.

Diani was moved from left wing into the number nine role in the second half, and she had two big chances, which she couldn't take - the better of which hit the crossbar.

They will have to work on their attacking play in particular now ahead of the next game.

    France 0-0 Jamaica
  7. Blackwood deservedly Player of the Match

    FT: France 0-0 Jamaica

    Anna Thompson

BBC Sport at Sydney Football Stadium

Defender Daneisha Blackwood has been held aloft by her team-mates and squirted with water after being awarded the Player of the Match Award. She's certainly put a shift in to secure her country's first ever point at a Women's World Cup.

The team are now doing a lap of honour and the few Jamaica fans here, have stayed behind to cheer their team.

    France 0-0 Jamaica
  8. In the thick of it

    FT: France 0-0 Jamaica

Khadija Shaw became the first Jamaican player to receive a red card at the Women’s World Cup.

No player won (four) or conceded (three) more fouls in this match than Shaw, while she also contested the most duels (24).

  9. Post update

    FT: France 0-0 Jamaica

    Emma Sanders

BBC Sport at Sydney Football Stadium

Well. That red card to Khadija Shaw has really put a dampener on things. Jamaica pick up a crucial draw which boosts their chances of progressing from the group but at what cost?

Shaw will not be available to play in their next group match. The good news is that it is against Panama, who are widely considered the weakest team in the group.

Either way, the Jamaicans celebrated passionately at full-time, racing into the centre circle to hug each other and get into a huddle.

  10. FULL-TIME

    France 0-0 Jamaica

Jamaica, ranked 43rd in the world, hold on with only 10 players to grab an excellent World Cup draw against France, fifth in the rankings.

It is the first ever time Jamaica have not lost a World Cup match and they showed wonderful spirit and desire to frustrate France.

    Goalless. A point apiece.

    France 0-0 Jamaica
  11. Post update

    France 0-0 Jamaica

Into the last minute. Any goal now is a winning one.

  12. Post update

    France 0-0 Jamaica

Jamaica have never avoided defeat in a World Cup match. They have only three minutes left and are trying to hang on to a point against Euro 2022 semi-finalists France with only 10 players.

  13. RED CARD - Khadija Shaw, Jamaica

    France 0-0 Jamaica

Jamaica's star player Khadija Shaw will miss the match against Panama on Saturday.

She picked up a booking earlier on and gets a second yellow with a silly sliding challenge on Wendie Renard when the ball is right near the right-sided touchline.

    France 0-0 Jamaica
  14. HITS THE WOODWORK - Diani, France

    France 0-0 Jamaica

So close to a 90th-minute potential winner. Substitute Vicki Becho crosses from the right flank, Kadidiatou Diani gets her head to it, the ball beats Rebecca Spencer but bounces off the bar, glances against the post on the way down and stays out.

    You can't get much closer.

    France 0-0 Jamaica
  15. 'How does Kenza Dali not start for France?'

    France 0-0 Jamaica

    Emma Hayes

    Chelsea Women manager on ITV1

You almost can't believe that Kenza Dali doesn't start for this team, given the quality she has from set pieces and everywhere else.

The best chances France have made so far have come from her set piece deliveries.

  16. Post update

    France 0-0 Jamaica

We've had late winners for Denmark against China and Sweden against South Africa. Is there a late twist in this tale?

Maelle Lakrar almost provides it for France when she heads at goal, but it is more off her shoulder than forehead and it goes over the top.

  17. Post update

    France 0-0 Jamaica

Khadija Shaw is playing through the pain barrier here for her country and she winces after going to ground with an attempted left-footed shot that bounces back off her and off a defender but goes over the top.

  18. Post update

    France 0-0 Jamaica

    Emma Sanders

BBC Sport at Sydney Football Stadium

HUGE roar as Khadija Shaw wins a corner for Jamaica. That's probably the biggest we've had so far.

  19. Post update

    France 0-0 Jamaica

Khadija Shaw is back on for Jamaica. But not looking too mobile.

  20. Post update

    France 0-0 Jamaica

    Emma Smith

BBC Sport reporter at Sydney Football Stadium

Shaw has gone down a few times tonight, and every time she does you hold your breath for Jamaica.

You feel as long as she can stand up, she will be on the pitch for her country, who are so close to a famous result now.
