Jamaica's Jody Brown has had a painful evening. She went over on her ankle in the first half but was able to carry on, and has now just received a knee to the back when she was fouled by Maelle Lakrar, looking to leap over her and win a header.

But you don't want to go off in this one and Brown is fine to continue again.

We didn't see much of France's record goalscorer Eugenie le Sommer in the first half but she looks to make an instant impact in the second, stretching the Jamaica defence with a rapid charge up field through the middle.

She plays it to her left to Amel Majri, before Cheyna Matthews shows great pace to catch up to her, but she can't win the ball cleanly and fouls her opponent.

But France don't do much with the free-kick.

Jamaica's organisation has been absolutely fantastic and their pressing has been really good.

With any 'negative' France pass, so a pass backwards, they've been pressing really high - Bunny Shaw has been instrumental in this, leading from the front.

They have been relentlessly on it meaning that there is nowhere for France to go with the ball and they cannot get into a rhythm.

I've been disappointed with France in attack.

They've got to move the ball quicker and use the flanks more than they have.

It's just a question now if Jamaica can keep up their press and keep frustrating France for the remainder of the game.

It's absolutely pouring it down again so plenty of fans have gone into the concourse area for a bit of shelter.

The DJ is playing some funky music and those left in their seats have opened their cameras on their phones to light it up.

    We just need goals now.

Sulaimon: This match between France and Jamaica is a real physical contest. 3 yellow cards in the first half already.

Wendie Renard VS Khadija Bunny Shaw is a contest to watch.

  10. HALF-TIMEpublished at 11:54 British Summer Time 23 July 2023

    France 0-0 Jamaica

Goalless at the break, but I've enjoyed that 45 minutes. Jamaica's Khadija Shaw, a constant handful, fired a 30-yard free-kick at goal, but France goalkeeper Pauline Peyraud-Magnin got her fingertips to it to push it just wide.

At the other end Wendie Renard headed over from close range under pressure and Kadidiatou Diani's deflected attempt went just wide.

  11. CLOSE!published at 45+4 mins

    France 0-0 Jamaica

France's Amel Majri has a great delivery up her sleeve and prepares to swing the ball in left-footed with a free-kick close to the right touchline.

The first effort is pretty poor, but she gets another chance as the referee wasn't ready. The second is much better, with Jamaica struggling to get it clear.

Goalkeeper Rebecca Spencer gets her hands on another cross into the box, but France come again and then Kadidiatou Diani is so close to an injury-time goal.

Her shot takes a deflection, Spencer is motionless and wrong-footed and the ball could've gone anywhere. For Jamaica's relief and to France's frustration, the ball goes inches wide.

Jamaica have a number nine that is the leader of their team in Bunny [Khadija] Shaw.

They are always going to be in the game because of her.

Inches! That was the closest we have come so far and it had plenty of people on their feet in the stands. Khadija Shaw has been busy so far.

  15. CLOSE!published at 43 mins

    France 0-0 Jamaica

Nearly a brilliant goal from Khadija Shaw. Once again she is fouled, this time 30 yards out and she goes direct for a goal, with a beautifully sweet powerful strike from the free-kick.

Pauline Peyraud-Magnin is certainly worried in the France goal and flings herself to the right and is very, very relieved to see that the ball has just zipped past the post.

Actually, seeing it again, Peyraud-Magnin gets her fingers to the strike. A wonder save.

What a goal that would've been. Shaw causing so many problems for the French.

The crowd did NOT like that booking for Khadija Shaw. The decision got very loud boos, the biggest reaction to anything which has happened on the pitch tonight.

French manager Herve Renard was not happy it was just a yellow, remonstrating with the fourth official. Shaw certainly did catch Sakina Karchaoui late but it wasn't dangerous.

Jamaica boss Lorne Donaldson meanwhile looked very pensive. Anything that could risk Shaw missing a single minute of this competition is very bad news for his team.

It's now three bookings and Khadija Shaw is the latest to see yellow. She protests her innocence but had stood on the foot of Sakina Karchaoui when challenging for the ball and Shaw has to watch herself from now on.

  18. Postpublished at 38 mins

    France 0-0 Jamaica

Rebecca Spencer in the Jamaica goal does well to shovel Kadidiatou Diani's low strike around the post and the delivery from the resulting corner is excellent.

Spencer then has to try to deal with the ball just underneath the crossbar with Wendie Renard charging in. The centre-half, under pressure, gets her head on it, but can't steer it into the net. Chance.

France's Sandie Toletti is lucky to not see yellow with a pretty cynical attempt to haul down Khadija Shaw when the Manchester City striker had the ball in the centre circle and was looking to charge forwards.

Every time Shaw gets the ball, you can sense a bit of panic and desire to immediately stop her anyway possible, legally or not, from the French side.

  20. 'Disjointed game so far'published at 11:34 British Summer Time 23 July 2023

    France 0-0 Jamaica

    Emma Hayes
    Chelsea Women manager on ITV1

The game hasn't had much of a rhythm, been a bit disjointed, a lot of free-kicks.

France have to do better, they really do. They've struggled to get a stranglehold on the game, and they seem to lack clarity on what their best route to goal is.
