Goals change half-time team talks. I think England will change something anyway, things haven't felt right, the tempo is slow.

    You have to credit Colombia.

    HT: England 1-1 Colombia

I've seen several replays of that Catalina Perez error and I'm still actually quite unsure of how she managed to let it get away from her?

Anyway, England won't care. It was a good half from them despite that Leicy Santos goal and a bit of luck has done them a favour.

Perfect timing for a goal from England, who had played well before conceding.

It means their body language heading off at half-time is positive and some players run down the tunnel, clearly pumped with energy.

Sarina Wiegman had gathered a few players including Alex Greenwood around to encourage them and give them a few wise words when Lauren Hemp was still celebrating.

It was coming, you could see the desire, you could feel it.

The tenacity to fight for it and not give up.

Lauren Hemp was just alive to it. That big toe needs to be cast in gold.

  5. HALF-TIMEpublished at 12:25 British Summer Time 12 August 2023

    HT: England 1-1 Colombia

That was the last action of the opening period.

A bit of a shocker from Catalina Perez finishes what has been a very entertaining first half.

A bit of luck for England and they will be pleased to head into the dressing room back on level terms.

  6. 'Poor from keeper, but England won't care'published at 12:24 British Summer Time 12 August 2023

    England 1-1 Colombia

    Emma Hayes
    Chelsea manager on ITV1

There was a long passage of play, Walsh, Toone and Stanway all involved. It was fortuitous but you need a bit of that.

It was poor from Perez but England won't care about that.

    An absolute gift!

Well the ball came in and Lucy Bronze managed to work it across to Alessia Russo, whose effort was weak and straight to goalkeeper Catalina Perez.

It looks completely straightforward but Perez somehow manages to fumble and lose the ball and Lauren Hemp is there to just poke it into an open net from around six yards out.

An absolute gimme and England will take it. We're back level.

    England 0-1 Colombia

Rachel Daly sends one in but it's just a wall of Colombia players.

Georgia Stanway tries to get it out of her feet and towards goal but can only send it backwards.

    Half-time almost upon us.

    England 0-1 Colombia

    Anna Thompson
BBC Sport at Stadium Australia in Sydney

The crowd erupts in the stadium and the substitutes run on to the pitch to celebrate after a peach of a goal from Colombia's Leicy Santos. With pinpoint accuracy she chips Mary Earps to take the lead.

That's the first goal in open play Earps has conceded at this World Cup. The only other one was a penalty against China.

I assumed it had taken a deflection in real time but when you see the replay, it didn't!

Mary Earps wasn't expecting it and she's too far off her line, leaving a huge area of the net behind her open.

It's a wonderstrike though. The Colombian attackers have showed their quality.

  11. INJURY TIMEpublished at 12:19 British Summer Time 12 August 2023

    England 0-1 Colombia

We're into six minutes of added time but will likely have more as the celebrations from that goal ran into extra time.

The crowd went absolutely ballistic and why not. Have we got another major upset on our hands here?

It was a really good effort from Leicy Santos.

It lofted its way over the net over the outstretched hand of Mary Earps.

She backpedalled and she was caught out too near to that post.

If she was more central in her goal, she would have been able to handle that quite well.

  13. 'Colombia have the players who can do something from nothing'published at 12:18 British Summer Time 12 August 2023

    England 0-1 Colombia

    Emma Hayes
    Chelsea manager on ITV1

There is nothing traditional or rigid about this team, they have so many outstanding players who can create something from nothing.

It was hard for Earps to get into position, she was very close to her front post.

  14. Postpublished at 12:18 British Summer Time 12 August 2023

    England 0-1 Colombia

That marks the first time in this tournament that England have gone behind and is just the second goal they have conceded this tournament.

And what a moment to do so.

    Oh my.

Really good build-up from Colombia around the edge of the area and it comes out to Leicy Santos on the right-hand side.

It's an ambitious effort and could be mistaken for a cross but she absolutely meant that. Looping, deep and sailing over the head of Mary Earps, who was backing up across goal but couldn't get there.

    What a moment to score.

    Emma Sanders

The atmosphere in here is electric from the Colombians.

There's people on their feet waving scarves around their heads any time they cross the halfway line.

England's players are being booed and whistled when they have the ball. There's huge roars and chants when Colombia win corners.

It's hostile and effective but England have coped well so far.

Well worked by England. Building from the back and trying to find something in these final few minutes of the opening half.

The ball comes into the edge of the area and Rachel Daly heads down to Lucy Bronze who attempts to flick away but Linda Caicedo nips it away from her.

The way Linda Caicedo plays, you forget how young she is.

To play like this at her age, she must embrace it.

What a skilful technician she is. She moves so well, it must be incredibly difficult for defenders.

    Oh lovely stuff.

Very nifty play and quick feet between Ana Guzman and Mayra Ramirez on the right-hand side. The ball comes in to Linda Caicedo but her effort is poked wide.

Really good stuff from the Colombians and from two youngsters.
