Close!
It's a decent effort from debutant Hannes Decroix, who meets the corner with a volley to send the ball over the bar.
Burnley 1-2 Aston Villa
Burnley are buzzing now. They've got a corner. Finally, Villa are feeling the heat.
Sheffield United 0-0 Man City
City have Jeremy Doku, Phil Foden and Cole Palmer on the bench, as well as James McAtee who did so well for Sheffiled United last season. Plenty of options if they need them.
Sheffield United 0-0 Man City
A bit later getting back to it at Bramall Lane but here we go. No changes at the break.
Lyle Foster
Game on!
Burnley have come out swinging. They put Villa under pressure and the visitors can't get the ball away. Connor Roberts' header in from the left is allowed to drop and Lyle Foster holds of a marker to swivel and find the net.
It's a first goal for Burnley since their return to the Premier League and just what they needed here.
Burnley 0-2 Aston Villa
Back under way at Turf Moor. Burnley with it all to do against a very comfortable-looking Villa.
There's been a change from the home side.
Johann Berg Gudmondsson is on for Manuel Benson.
Sheffield United 0-0 Man City
Ah here we go - Manchester City have only converted 70% of their penalties in the Premier League under Pep Guardiola (43/61), the lowest percentage of any team to have taken at least 30 in the competition under a manager.

At times Sheffield United are going man for man, so City need to get players in and around Haaland.
Before the penalty he hadn't touched the ball for 20 minutes.
We know City like to keep the ball and play that way, but they need to try and get players playing one-twos and running off him. We saw the one time they did get the ball in to him he nearly scored.

Sorry Anon but I'd take the goal machine who doesn't play much football over all the other show ponies. Goals win games, that's what matters.

The pundits I'm watching think Manchester City should have had three penalties in that first half by the way...

As a defender I've been there and you feel bad for John Egan, but his arm does come up, his silhouette is bigger so the penalty decision was right.
By the letter of the law, the fact the ball was going to the striker behind, Erling Haaland, means that it was a clear penalty.

Are Sheff United the best supported team in the country this afternoon? Come on you Blades!
Jamey, Leeds
Sheffield United 0-0 Man City
The thing with this whole 'x amount of touches' stuff is that most strikers don't touch the ball very often.
Ollie Watkins has had 15 for Villa, for example. And he's set up a goal and been an absolute menace.

We can talk all day long about how good Moussa Diaby is, the club record signing has fitted in without any issues since joining from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer.
But Villa's attacking play wouldn't be possible without the midfield base of Douglas Luiz and Boubacar Kamara. That duo do all the dirty work, the unsung heroes of this side.
Burnley haven't actually played that badly but Villa are looking very dangerous everytime they come forward with the ball.

Haaland has had 6 touches, and one was a penalty. I'm sorry, for all the goals he scores, he barely actually plays any football and people want to give him the Ballon D'or. There are better overall players than him in every league.

Sheffield United 0-0 Man City
No goals, a missed penalty and a very interesting duel between Erling Haaland and the home defence.
Sheffield United 0-0 Man City
It's been simmering for a few minutes and there is a yellow card, it's not on Erling Haaland, that's the only surprise. Jack Grealish is flattened by Greece international George Baldock.

He's not happy at the moment Haaland, he's going to have to be careful.
Sheffield United 0-0 Man City
Referee Jarred Gillett calls over Erling Haaland and the United centre-backs as this battle continues. The home crowd are loving this.
