The possession stats so far are to be expected.

In some ways Luton will be pleased, they've got forward on a couple of occasions and looked dangerous. They also had a set piece chance too.

They are just going to have to play on moments, Rob Edwards said as much before the game.

  7. Postpublished at 11 mins

    Chelsea 0-0 Luton

It's a little too cute from Chelsea at the moment as Connor Gallagher feeds Raheem Sterling on the edge of the box.

The angle is too tight for the forward who holds on to the ball for a second too long and Luton are able to get bodies back.

Chelsea's Moises Caicedo concedes a needless free-kick and then trips over the ball as Tahith Chong races forward for Luton.

The ex-Manchester United man cuts inside but curls an effort off target.

It's been a really pacey, open start at Stamford Bridge. Good game.

    Chelsea 0-0 Luton

    Jamie Carragher
Former Liverpool defender on Sky Sports

Before the game when we interviewed Rob Edwards, he admitted that this direct playing style wasn't his, he hadn't set up his teams that way throughout his career previously.

But he adapted and ran with it, insisted on playing to the strengths of this squad of players. That is really admirable.

  14. Postpublished at 3 mins

    Chelsea 0-0 Luton

Chelsea stopper Robert Sanchez is quick off his line to punch away Luton's deep free-kick.

Then there's some loud jeers from the away fans as Levi Colwill slices a clearance out for a throw right under their noses. One for the Christmas blooper reel.

Will: Madueke doesnt really fit into the current Poch system which is a massive shame. Hes the only player to come out of last season with any credit and is a more exciting attacking player than the ones CFC have bought or are linked to. Hopefully he gets some game time, hate to see him wasted.

The Chelsea supporters are boogying to that pre-match song they always do - you know the one.

They also have a message to the Luton team. Can we call this one a derby? Luton's too far away right?
