Not sure even Sir Jim's experience with boats will be enough to save this sinking ship

    Dr Siddiqui

Garnacho needs to come on for Manchester United. This is the kind of match where he scores.

    Luke

As good as Bruno has been for Utd he needs to be dropped. Constantly gives the ball away with hopeful long balls, leaves us open to counter attacks and gives away any control.

Man Utd is like the song in the Friends series: “..stuck in 2nd gear..” Never gets fully going. Unbalanced team, bureaucratic football works only by individual brilliance but not collectively.

    Paul Robinson
Former Tottenham and England goalkeeper on Radio 5 Live

    Sheffield United have been excellent.

We know the injury problems they have had, which was well documented heading into this game, it is kind of a makeshift team that they have out there. But they have done extremely well.

They have pressed Man United high, played them at their own game.

Manchester United have really struggled at the back, Maguire and Evans up against Archer and McBurnie.

The main goal threat for them, playing higher up the field surprisingly is McTominay. Fernandes and Rashford have been quiet up until the final 10 minutes or so of the half.

  9. 'Mudryk goal will give him confidence'published at 21:07 British Summer Time 21 October 2023

    FT: Chelsea 2-2 Arsenal

    Chelsea

Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino, speaking to MOTD: "I think we lost two points. We are disappointed but you can not change the analysis and the judgement of the game. We were very competitive against a very good team fighting for the Premier League last season.

"We are a young team and I think the way we competed is a lot to be proud but we're disappointed because after 77 minutes when we conceded the first goal I think we were better. The game was under control and we were playing well and dominating the game.

"But when you concede there is a risk. Yes, we're disappointed but we have to take positive things. I wan to see my players sad because they lost two points. We are in a good direction. It's important we show the people we can compete at this level."

On Mykhailo Mudryk's goal: "Yes [he meant it]. To be honest, he tried. It doesn't mean that only him deserves the credit but he knew the position of the keeper and that it was possible to score from that position. He needed his first goal at Stamford Bridge. He still needs to improve but with this goal I think he is going to be more confident in the future."

On Cole Palmer: "He is an unbelievable player. He is so young but is so open to learn. He showed his personality is strong."

  10. 'A legend forever'published at 21:05 British Summer Time 21 October 2023

    FT: Chelsea 2-2 Arsenal

    Arsenal

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta, speaking to MOTD about the passing of Sir Bobby Charlton: "I remember as a kid I was collecting cards and watching videos and saw what he meant for English football and world football.

"He is a big loss. He was a legend already and now he will be a legend forever and he leaves an incredible legacy, not only as a player but as a person as well."

  11. 'We wanted more'published at 21:04 British Summer Time 21 October 2023

    FT: Chelsea 2-2 Arsenal

    Arsenal

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta, speaking to MOTD: "It's mixed feelings. Credit to Chelsea for the way they set up. You have to expect that. We were below par in very basic things and we didn't play with enough purpose with the ball and we were soft in some situations. We allowed them to run which is a really dangerous thing to do.

"We tweaked things and played the second half with a different intensity. We were more of a threat and we should have scored a goal earlier. We scored two brilliant goals which gave us a point but we wanted more.

"When you're 2-0 down against Chelsea you can drop your head and start to blame each other. But the team never did that they believed they could do it [get back in the game]."

  12. 'We have to believe we can achieve great things'published at 21:02 British Summer Time 21 October 2023

    FT: Chelsea 2-2 Arsenal

    Arsenal

Arsenal's Declan Rice on his goal, speaking to MOTD: "You have to make a split-second decision whether to take it on or not. The goal was open and I saw the keeper was the one that made the pass and I thought 'why not - whether it was going to go in or not - give it a go?'.

"The way I struck it, it was perfection to be honest.

"It's a frustrating one because you have seen in the second half - like Manchester City in the previous game - what we can do. First half was probably the most sloppy we have been all season but in a 90-minute match it can swing both ways.

"Chelsea were in a really good moment with their fans in the second half so to get a point and stay unbeaten is a real good thing for us. We have to keep building. We are not the finished article and we have to keep going and believing we can achieve great things."

    Fine save by Wes Foderingham!

Yes it's a soft penalty, but United need changes. Time to replace Erik ten Hag with a genuine coach, such as Southgate.

    Will Maidstone

Manchester United once stood for community, passion PRIDE...now all I see is empty mercenaries without the United DNA that made us great. Sir Jim needs to think outside the box and appoint Gary Neville as the gaffer. I hold out little hope unfortunately.
