Nick Pope comes out of his box to try and clear but sees the ball poked past him. Matheus Cunha tries to cross but sees his delivery blocked by the backtracking Bruno Guimaraes. Is it with a hand?

This is one, when you watch Match Of The Day tonight, make your own decision. You have to judge the amount of contact. I honestly think that because it was given on the field is the reason it wasn't overturned.

For what it's worth, I don't think that's a penalty.

Joelinton tries to make it 3-1 with a driving run into the box and a low shot that is saved.

That penalty decision is going to split opinion.

If it's not given on the field, I don't think VAR is overturning and awarding it.

I'm not sure there's contact at all. There's no malice, there's no intent. It's an accidental trip if anything.

If this is given it's for the slightest of touches.

The penalty stands! The VAR team back up the on-field official.

After the long VAR check at Bournemouth, we have another one here.

They are looking at this over and over.

Oh wow, the ref has pointed to the spot!

It's for a swing of a boot by Hwang Hee-chan, which fells Fabian Schar after the Newcastle defender had nipped in to poke the ball away.

How much contact is there? Is there any? Does Fabian Schar actually trip himself a little?

I don't like it when players do that. They almost referee the game themselves, Guimaraes there just stopped, looked at the referee, said 'give me a free kick' and the referee gladly obliged.

Players are clever. They do have an influence on the referee at times.

The chances continue to come.

Fabian Schar dinks a lovely ball into the box that finds Sean Longstaff but he can't get the ball down quickly enough for a shot before the Wolves defenders rally to crowd him out.

Nick Pope is drawn into action as Pedro Neto is found by Nelson Semedo on the left to cut back inside on to his right foot and fire a shot that is tipped over.

Excellent tracking from Mario Lemina. Miguel Almiron charges forward with the ball, but the Wolves midfielder follows him and steps in to intercept at the crucial moment.

Newcastle's turn to almost fashion something.

Anthony Gordon is sent wide by Joelinton but keeps the attack alive to get the ball in to Bruno Guimaraes, who weaves around tackles in the box before poking the ball to Sean Longstaff for a blocked effort.
