Now is this a Wolves penalty?!

Nick Pope comes out of his box to try and clear but sees the ball poked past him. Matheus Cunha tries to cross but sees his delivery blocked by the backtracking Bruno Guimaraes. Is it with a hand?

This is one, when you watch Match Of The Day tonight, make your own decision. You have to judge the amount of contact. I honestly think that because it was given on the field is the reason it wasn't overturned.

    For what it's worth, I don't think that's a penalty.

Joelinton tries to make it 3-1 with a driving run into the box and a low shot that is saved.

That penalty decision is going to split opinion.

If it's not given on the field, I don't think VAR is overturning and awarding it.

The ref has to be sent to look at that again - never a penalty...

I cannot believe that's been given. How can they not say Schar is already falling before the absolute minimal contact. (If any).

    Callum Wilson

    Callum Wilson gets lucky!

His penalty is not great, down the middle and at a saveable height. Jose Sa dives and gets a hand to the ball, but it still dribbles in.

I'm not sure there's contact at all. There's no malice, there's no intent. It's an accidental trip if anything.

If this is given it's for the slightest of touches.

The penalty stands! The VAR team back up the on-field official.

Over to Callum Wilson, who has one goal already...

After the long VAR check at Bournemouth, we have another one here.

They are looking at this over and over.

  10. PENALTY TO NEWCASTLEpublished at 45+1 mins

    Wolves 1-1 Newcastle

Oh wow, the ref has pointed to the spot!

It's for a swing of a boot by Hwang Hee-chan, which fells Fabian Schar after the Newcastle defender had nipped in to poke the ball away.

How much contact is there? Is there any? Does Fabian Schar actually trip himself a little?

    Wolves 1-1 Newcastle

    Paul Robinson

I don't like it when players do that. They almost referee the game themselves, Guimaraes there just stopped, looked at the referee, said 'give me a free kick' and the referee gladly obliged.

Players are clever. They do have an influence on the referee at times.

Bar Alisson and maybe a couple of others, the standard of goalkeeping in this league is abysmal.

    Chance for Newcastle.

Fabian Schar dinks a lovely ball into the box that finds Sean Longstaff but he can't get the ball down quickly enough for a shot before the Wolves defenders rally to crowd him out.

This is all about Mario Lemina's desire to get on to the ball.

The midfielder charges from deep in the box and beats Kieran Trippier in the air to head in Pedro Neto's corner.

Newcastle's turn to almost fashion something.

Anthony Gordon is sent wide by Joelinton but keeps the attack alive to get the ball in to Bruno Guimaraes, who weaves around tackles in the box before poking the ball to Sean Longstaff for a blocked effort.

    This is a fun watch.

Newcastle's opening 3 fixtures were villa and Liverpool at home and city away, psg, dortmund and ac milan in europe, I don't think Paul Robinson can really class wolves away as the first test of the season
