Another moment of stupidity to cost United. Not the first time this season and certainly won’t be the last. Worst United side I’ve seen in the 30 years I’ve existed.

"Keano! Keano!" is the chant from the United fans towards Erling Haaland. You may remember that there was a bit of a clash between United's Roy Keane and Erling's dad Alf-Inge on this ground in 2001.

I've not got time to tell the whole story here.

You can read about here, though.

A point apiece at a soaking wet Amex. Brighton will feel they should have got the three points and took the lead through Evan Ferguson's first-half goal only to be pegged back by Joao Palhinha's 20-yard blaster after the break.

    Liverpool 3-0 Nottingham Forest

A very routine victory for Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool.

Goals from Diogo Jota and Darwin Nunez put them 2-0 up in the first half, before Mohamed Salah pounced on a mistake from Forest goalkeeper Matt Turner for the third goal.

Substitute Cody Gakpo thought he had added a fourth in injury time but was rightly marked as offside.

We see this every game. Everybody is holding everybody and they don't get given.

Every game you watch, in every division, people hold on to each other. If they do it at every corner and every free-kick, you'll get at least 10 penalties a game.

So... Rodri goes to ground after being held by Rasmus Hojlund. The ball was heading in his direction. There is a clear arm there, holding him back.

First proper task for Michael Oliver to have a look at something in the VAR booth as City float a free-kick into the box and Rodri claims he is being held by Rasmus Hojlund.

Oh my... he's advised Paul Tierney to go to the monitor!

The home fans are starting to get a bit restless. They sense City are starting to squeeze them. Sofyan Amrabat is adjudged to have fouled Phil Foden in the United half and it is the excuse to get some frustration of their chests.

Was the shot just sneaking wide? The United keeper took no chances.

  17. Man Utd defence getting dragged aboutpublished at 15:50 Greenwich Mean Time 29 October 2023

    Man Utd 0-0 Man City

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport at Old Trafford

Manchester United need to maintain their defensive shape, from front to back.

City are finding it too easy to find players in space, which is pulling home defenders out of their positions trying to cover.

It ended up with Bernardo Silva having time to deliver a cross just then. The attacking didn't come to anything as Rodri smashed a shot over but if City keep getting in those positions, they will eventually find the net.

I think City are the dominant side. Manchester United are just waiting for that chance to break. I do think City need to be playing a bit quicker. They are moving it too slow and it's allowing United to get back in.
