Thank you Ian and hello football fans, thanks for following along.

A solid start to our Championship return from the international break.

Speaking of breaks, go and grab yourself a quick one, but don't go far and bring back a snack.

Because we have plenty more action just around the corner.

  2. Moving on...published at 14:27 British Summer Time 21 October 2023

That's the action at Deepdale done and dusted then.

Time to turn our attention to the games at 15:00 BST across the EFL.

To talk you through the build up to all of that, here's Luke De Costa.

  3. 'A draw was a fair result'published at 14:26 British Summer Time 21 October 2023

    FT Preston 1-1 Millwall

    Jamie Hoyland
Former Preston youth coach on BBC Radio Lancashire

After three defeats you can't go and lose at home and make it four. The losing streak is at least over.

A draw is a fair result. It's been a bit indifferent from Preston - a lot more positive at the back end of the half after the substitutions.

It's given Ryan Lowe a quandary. He made changes to start the game but does he think he'll have to spin the dice again for Southampton in midweek?

He's got to look to try to get that consstency back in the team week-in, week-out.

  4. FULL-TIMEpublished at 14:24 British Summer Time 21 October 2023

    Preston 1-1 Millwall

Good first half, not so good second half. A point apiece the fair result.

Zian Flemming, who netted a fine equaliser for the managerless away side in the first half, drags a free-kick well wide with the final kick of the game.

Mads Frokjaer gave Preston a very early lead but they were second best for much of the game thereafter until a late push.

Decent enough contest but it ultimately told that these teams were paying their first game after a couple of weeks off.

    Onwards!

    Preston 1-1 Millwall

Preston defender Liam Lindsay takes one for the team as Zian Flemming tries to get forward.

  6. Postpublished at 90+1 mins

    Preston 1-1 Millwall

Murray Wallace does really well to block a shot at the near post as the home side push for a late winner.

The pressure is relieved when sub Ben Woodburn thumps a shot wastefully over from miles out.

  8. 'Evans has made an impact'published at 14:20 British Summer Time 21 October 2023

    Preston 1-1 Millwall

    Jamie Hoyland
Former Preston youth coach on BBC Radio Lancashire

Ched Evans has come on and been that fulcrum, that focal point for Preston which Will Keane never was, he did his work in the channels and dropping deep.

Having two proper centre forwards helps. Having someone to hit and someone to chase. The defenders are always under pressure.

It's Preston who are finishing the stronger and, if there is going to be a winner, they look the most likely ones.

  9. Postpublished at 89 mins

    Preston 1-1 Millwall

Tom Bradshaw clears the initial corner but Preston pick up the loose ball.

It's swung in to the near post and sub Ched Evans makes a good run but gets the wrong contact with his header.

  10. Postpublished at 88 mins

    Preston 1-1 Millwall

The home side win a corner after another enterprising run from sub Liam Millar.

  11. Postpublished at 85 mins

    Preston 1-1 Millwall

    Oooh dear.

Think the away side have got away with one there.

A free-kick misses the heads in the middle and hits Brook Norton-Cuffy on the hand at the back stick.

No VAR in the Championship and it would have been harsh had a penalty been given but, make no mistake, they'd have been having a look at that in the Premier League.

  12. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 84 mins

    Preston 1-1 Millwall

Final change of the day for the home side.

Goalscorer Mads Frokjaer is off and Ben Woodburn is on.

  13. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 81 mins

    Preston 1-1 Millwall

Millwall bring on Billy Mitchell for Allan Campbell in midfield.

They've been tiring these past few minutes so fresh legs were needed.

  14. Postpublished at 79 mins

    Preston 1-1 Millwall

Preston look the more likely to me now.

They've made four subs to Millwall's one.

The Lions have got quite a lot of injuries at present so don't have much depth on their bench.

  15. 'I owe De Norre an apology'published at 14:07 British Summer Time 21 October 2023

    Preston 1-1 Millwall

    Jamie Hoyland
Former Preston youth coach on BBC Radio Lancashire

I owe Casper de Norre an apology, I called him cumbersome in the first half but he has really grown into the game and done an excellent job in the middle with Allan Campbell.

The changes have helped Preston, it had gone a bit stale, but Millwall are finding it hard to get any rhythm going now. Preston are building up the pressure and look like they can go on and nick one late on.

It's set up for a Ched Evans winner, isn't it?

  16. YELLOW CARDpublished at 73 mins

    Preston 1-1 Millwall

Liam Millar has been all-action since coming on for the home side.

He's now got a booking for dragging back Brooks Norton-Cuffy after losing possession.

Another couple of changes for Preston and one of them's a big one.

Striker Ched Evans is back after a lengthy period out following neck and back surgery.

Alan Browne is also on for the hosts.

Chances have been at a real premium this half.

Into the final 20 minutes you'd have to think any goal now would be the winner.

  18. 'Millar making a mark'published at 14:02 British Summer Time 21 October 2023

    Preston 1-1 Millwall

    Jamie Hoyland
Former Preston youth coach on BBC Radio Lancashire

Liam Millar has only been on a few minutes but, probably because of the way he played against Plymouth, scoring on his debut, anything he does the fans are getting right behind him.

He's trying to be positive down the flank and it's got the team going because the fans are getting into it.

  19. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 69 mins

    Preston 1-1 Millwall

Aidomo Emakhu's final action is that booking.

The young Millwall forward has had a great game today but he's struggling with cramp and Ryan Longman enters the fray in his place.

  20. YELLOW CARDpublished at 66 mins

    Preston 1-1 Millwall

Millwall forward Aidomo Emakhu has a card to mark his first league start for the club.

It's a yellow one for taking Liam Millar down as the Preston sub motored forward down their right.
