  1. 'A few boos there'published at 13:54 British Summer Time 21 October 2023

    Preston 1-1 Millwall

    Jamie Hoyland
Former Preston youth coach on BBC Radio Lancashire

I don't think the Preston fans are happy about Duane Holmes coming off - there were a few boos there.

I think the rumblings were because they wanted more positivity in midfield to take the game to Millwall, he's kept the two sitting midfield players on.

  2. SUBSTITUTIONSpublished at 63 mins

    Preston 1-1 Millwall

Preston gaffer Ryan Lowe has seen enough and he makes a double change.

Robbie Brady and Duane Holmes are off and Milutin Osmajic and Liam Millar are on.

  3. YELLOW CARDpublished at 61 mins

    Preston 1-1 Millwall

Millwall forward Aidomo Emakhu is having a fine first league start for the Lions.

He looks to charge forward from halfway and Preston defender Greg Cunningham says "nah" and trips him up.

Preston need to find a spark from somewhere. They cleared the ball from the corner but they are jogging out.

Too many mistakes for Preston, unforced errors as they say in tennis.

Ryan Lowe is going to be making some changes here. I think Liam Millar for Robbie Brady will be one.

The ground is flat, all you can hear is the Millwall fans. They need a change to get something going.

Really opening up in the past few minutes with both teams looking a lot better going forward than going the other way.

  6. 'Preston can't get any momentum'published at 13:46 British Summer Time 21 October 2023

    Preston 1-1 Millwall

    Jamie Hoyland
Former Preston youth coach on BBC Radio Lancashire

Preston were just starting to play a bit quicker and keeping possession in the Millwall half.

They can't get the momentum going, they did for a moment and the crowd got into it but a couple of little touches, mis-controls, and it's gone again.

  7. Postpublished at 52 mins

    Preston 1-1 Millwall

    Better from Preston.

They've just got their foot on the ball and put together a sustained spell of possession for the first time in quite some time.

  8. Postpublished at 48 mins

    Preston 1-1 Millwall

The away side pick up where they left off.

They work the ball into the Preston area and the ball comes for Allan Campbell about 15 yards out.

The former Motherwell man doesn't quite make the contact he wants on his effort and it's straight at Freddie Woodman in the home goal.

  9. 'We might see a Preston change soon'published at 13:36 British Summer Time 21 October 2023

I thought we might see a substitution from Ryan Lowe but there are none so maybe he's decided to give it 10 or 15 minutes to see if there is a reaction to what he's said at half-time.

If Millwall pick up where they left off in the first half I don't think it'll be long before we see a change.

  14. 'It's been a really quirky first half'published at 13:23 British Summer Time 21 October 2023

    HT: Preston 1-1 Millwall

    Jamie Hoyland
Former Preston youth coach on BBC Radio Lancashire

Losing the three games on the trot coming into this, going 1-0 up and then losing the lead, it feels a bit like 'oh no here we go again,' and Preston have played like it, to be honest.

It started unbelievably well and Millwall were all over the place, they looked like a team who lost their manager this week and didn't want to. It looked like an easy three points.

Now we're here and Millwall could be in front and Preston haven't created anything in the final third in the last 25 minutes.

Preston were on the ropes but they'll be so happy only two minutes came up and they are in the changing room without having conceded a second.

  15. HALF-TIMEpublished at 13:20 British Summer Time 21 October 2023

    Preston 1-1 Millwall

All-square at the break after an absorbing 45 minutes at Deepdale.

The home side took a very early lead when Mads Frokjaer swept home from inside the area after good build up play.

Millwall got a deserved leveller through Zian Flemming's super strike and they've had the better of things since then.

All set up for a great second half.

Two minutes of time added on at the end of this action-packed first half.

  17. Postpublished at 42 mins

    Preston 1-1 Millwall

The away side have firmly wrestled control of this match now.

A long diagonal ball is clipped over for Lions forward Aidomo Emakhu but he can't bring it under his spell and the ball bounces out for a goalkick.

  18. 'MIllwall look full of confidence'published at 13:12 British Summer Time 21 October 2023

    Preston 1-1 Millwall

    Jamie Hoyland
Former Preston youth coach on BBC Radio Lancashire

You can see the confidence has drained out of Preston.

When you score early you have to keep your foot on the throttle. They let Millwall off after 10 minutes or so and now Millwall look like they are full of confidence.

These last five or 10 minutes before half-time are now very important.

Millwall's Dutch forward Zian Flemming has been nicknamed the Bermondsey Bergkamp and the former Arsenal star would have been proud of his effort to make it 1-1 in this match.

Pretty certain I never saw Dennis launch a fearsome long throw into the opposition box for the Gunners though I have to say.

  20. Postpublished at 33 mins

    Preston 1-1 Millwall

Have to admit I didn't think this game would be quite as open as it has been so far.

    Long may it continue!

A couple of Millwall players hit the deck in the area looking for a penalty but I think they might have actually taken one another out.
