A bit of a strange injury for Sean Longstaff as the ball was kicked against his leg and sent him tumbling to the ground. It looks like he will be OK though.

It's been sluggish from Newcastle - they look like they have been playing in Europe in midweek.
You look around and they just look one yard off it across the pitch.
But it is on these nights when you are strugglig to get going that if you want to stay at the upper echelons of the league you need to find that edge, that special something to get the result.
Bournemouth 1-0 Newcastle
It highlights the extent of Newcastle's injury problems as they make a change with one teenager replacing another. Ben Parkinson, 18, is on for 17-year-old Lewis Miley.

A chance to get an immediate response for Newcastle as Tino Livramento finds Anthony Gordon in the final third, Gordon skips away from a Bournemouth player but his shot is straight at Neto.

It's lucky how the ball gets through, to Solanke, a Willock pass deflected and just goes through the defence and into his path.
It's a fierce strike to the right hand side of Pope and the home side have the lead.
Finally they have taken one of their many chances!
Dominic Solanke
The hosts take the lead!
It is a touch fortunate, but you can't say Bournemouth have not deserved it.
Joe Willock, in trying to knock the ball away from Antoine Semenyo, ends up knocking it on for Dominic Solanke and he drives in a really good finish from inside the area.

That was a wicked in-swinging cross that no one really got anything of.
The ball bounced just before Neto and the Bournemouth stopper did well to deflect it away from goal.
Any touch there and it was in the net, a fantastic, outstanding ball from Trippier.
Bournemouth 0-0 Newcastle
Cracking delivery by Kieran Trippier and it is awkward for Neto, who can't hold the ball at his near post and then Joe Willock just can't quite turn in the loose ball.
That's probably the closest Newcastle have come.
Bournemouth 0-0 Newcastle
This is a pretty decent position for a free kick for Newcastle, left side of the box. Kieran Trippier is over this...
Bournemouth 0-0 Newcastle
Anthony Gordon races onto a ball down the left but he is forced wide by Lewis Cook, who is then booked for a robust challenge on Gordon.

Similar to the question someone asked during spurs game on why folk want spurs to get beat. I am rooting for Newcastle to get beaten here because these days they are a threat. Didn't care less about their results year or so ago.

Re Edward Taylor: Newcastle have 10 players missing today - Burn, Botman, Targett, Manquillo, Barnes, Wilson, Isak, Guimaraes, Tonali and Anderson - and have now lost Almiron too. If that is "nowhere near as bad as Man Utd", how many do they have out? 15? 20?

Newcastle have come out in this second half and have set their stall out a bit higher up the pitch, something Eddie Howe has clearly stressed to his players at half time.
In the first half they sat low and invited pressure at times from Bournemouth.
If we're being honest the home side probably should have been ahead with the chances they had.

Max Aarons plays a decent low ball in from the right but it is cut out before Antoine Semenyo's strike is blocked by Tino Livramento.

Newcastle’s current injuries are no coincidence. Howe’s high tempo playing style has eventually led to this.
