Just when you're hoping a game will go by without any contentious decisions.
Is James fouled by Doku? Did Haaland foul Cucurella first? It's all moot now as the scoreline says Chelsea 0-1 City.
Erling Haaland
No mistake!
The debate over whether it should be a penalty will no doubt continue, but City's big man slots in the spot kick with typical coolness.

The penalty has been given, but that is not the right decision.

My initial reaction is that is a foul from Doku, he doesn't go for the ball and knocks James over.

Haaland does really well, he's clever. He has the initial tug on the shirt to get in front of him and then Cucurella drags him down.
Chelsea 0-0 Man City
The tech is all over this.
They are looking to see if the incident for the penalty is valid. They decide it is, but did Haaland drag back Cucurella first. They were both at it.
The tech sides with their man on the field and Haaland is over the ball on the spot.
Chelsea 0-0 Man City
Confusion gives way to the realisation that City have a penalty!
There are home players down in the box after a clash, which allows City to send over a cross towards Erling Haaland. He is dragged down by Marc Cucurella and we have a spot kick.

Chelsea demonstrating how to play against City. Are City a better team? Probably, but they don't play anywhere near as well when teams play their own game and take it to them. More teams need to do this, they're far from unbeatable.

Ruben Dias delays his clearance and Conor Gallagher nips in to tackle. It sets Raheem Sterling away but his ball towards Nicolas Jackson in the box is poor.

Cole Palmer is always available down that right-hand side. As soon as the ball goes out to him, City are on him like a flash.
Chelsea 0-0 Man City
Now Chelsea's turn to plant an effort on goal.
Conor Gallagher is a little fortunate to see the ball come to him on the edge of the box and he chips it up before volleying a shot straight down Ederson's throat.
It's just simmering away at the moment.

Brighton midfielder Pascal Gross to Premier League Productions:
“We lost two points today, we should kill the game - the possibility was there to do so and we didn’t.
“We go down to 10 men and conceded too easy and that was the story of the game.
“We have to be honest with ourselves, we should still win the game.
"It was in our hands, if we are better, we can kill the game – 1-0 is always a dangerous score and at the moment in the Premier League the results are not good enough."

Livelier off the pitch than on it at the moment as Chelsea and Manchester City fans exchange chants about their respective Champions League triumphs.
Fair to say this is an early period of sparring.

Tunde: Chelsea are straight on to it, taking no time to pressure City. They better take their chances before City find their rhythm as City are not too good wasting opportunities.
Chelsea 0-0 Man City
A header on target from City.
Julian Alvarez punts a corner deep into the box for Josep Gvardiol to run round and nod towards goal. Robert Sanchez is right behind it.
Chelsea 0-0 Man City
There's definitely a bit of something in the air. A bit more tension and feistiness. Chelsea fans know just how big a win here could be for their season.

You don't often hear Stamford Bridge like this for a Premier League match.
Chelsea 0-0 Man City
The first chance for Jeremy Doku to run at Reece James sees the City forward drive to the byline and punch in a low cross that is hammered away.

The pass Cole Palmer played to Conor Gallagher he should have played earlier.
They almost got in with the one-two but Rodri was very fortunate Ederson came to the rescue.
