    Frankie Kent, you're lucky.

The Hearts defender completely fresh-airs a simple ball back to him and almost slips, but he recovers just in time.

Odel Offiah is walking a tightrope now.

The Hearts man is in the book for sliding through the back of Abdallah Sima, who will surely be targeting the defender now.

Hearts work a cross opportunity really well again, but Odel Offiah's clipped cross is simple enough for Jack Butland.

Every touch Lawrence Shankland has had has been good.

Yes, the header for the goal was top notch, but the Hearts captain has had a couple of calming interventions to retain possession and hasn't wasted possession once.

The home fans aren't happy at all, looking for a lot more quality from their men.

That's superb defending in the end from Hearts.

Cyriel Dessers' ball across goal looks like it's going to be turned in by Todd Cantwell, but Alex Cochrane and Kye Rowles sort it out between them.

Five minutes on the clock and the Hearts fans can't believe it - they're celebrating the opening goal and have seen most of the play in Rangers half.

Terrific finish from Shankland, heading the ball back in the direction it came into the top corner. Ibrox is stunned, for now.

The height of Ridvan Yilmaz is exploited ruthlessly and it is a brilliant header by Lawrence Shankland.

You have always got goals with Lawrence Shankland at the top end of the pitch so Rangers will need to quash that.

Rangers need to get the fans on their side because that makes a huge difference here at Ibrox.

  17. 'Every game is big' - Clementpublished at 14:53 Greenwich Mean Time 29 October 2023

    Rangers v Hearts (15:00)

Rangers manager Philippe Clement tells BBC Sportsound: "I've been satisfied with the mentality of the team. It's only the first week, I'm still in the observation period to see how everybody reacts.

"To me, every game is a big game. You do not win trophies or titles without viewing every game as big. I want to see that mentality in games and in training sessions. That is the basics of our work, if you do not do that you do not win trophies.

"We are going to try to push luck towards our side by playing good football and creating a lot of chances."

  18. 'We must defend better than last week' - Naismithpublished at 14:50 Greenwich Mean Time 29 October 2023

    Rangers v Hearts (15:00)

Hearts boss Steven Naismith tells BBC Sportsound: "We need to focus on today's game, it'll be tough. Rangers have made a change and they've got off to a good start.

"We'll need to defend much better than we did last week. We never had much fight and gave up cheap opportunities. We've got good quality within the team and hopefully we should be able to hurt Rangers.

"Our record at Ibrox is poor, that's something we need to try and change. You don't do that by defending for 90 minutes."
