The good thing about some of the top clubs in the league is that they have a good core of players that have been there for quite a number of years, and that can help dictate the culture, and you know what you are going to get from them.

For example Bernardo Silva has been fantastic for Manchester City during his time at the club. Every year we seem to get this 'will he stay or will he go' narrative, but he has still been excellent every season.

Asked if he might make some tweaks, speaking to Sky Sports, Ange Postecoglou said: “As I said in the week if that was the end game I wouldn’t be standing here. I’m here because that’s not the end game.

“We’re just going to try and play our football but you’ve always got to remember there’s an opponent there that’s going to try and stop you and a very, very good opponent today so we’re going to have to make adjustments during the game but what won’t change is the way we play our football."

Ange Postecoglou keeps talking about the process rather than results at Tottenham.

Of course he would have been delighted at the way that they started the season, but he was also quite realistic in his assessment of the team and did remind us that there would be tough periods to come.

They are in a rough patch now and this is when you can judge managers, when things aren't going well how to they and their teams react? This is when we see what this side is made of.

Not many teams go toe to toe with City at Etihad Stadium so it is going to be very interesting to see what sort of line-up Spurs go with.

Full-backs Ben Davies and Emerson Royal were the centre-back pairing against Villa, with Eric Dier left on the bench.

Whoever gets the nod this time will have to be the best players in the team, because they get left exposed so much.

I am expecting another really open game and Tottenham will create chances, like they did last weekend against Villa. If they had taken them, they would have been out of sight by half-time.

City will get loads of opportunities too, though - and they are just ruthless.

That's why I'm saying there are going to be a few goals, it's just that Pep Guardiola's side will get most of them.

    Prediction: 4-2

Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins: "It was a good header, one of the best I've scored. We had a lot of chances and we could have killed it off.

"It shows our resilience but we are not starting games well away from home. If we can iron that out it will help us. Every game we want to win, we are in good form.

"We fancy ourselves against anybody. I'm very happy with my form but I am harsh on myself, I want to push on and become better."

A huge three points for Liverpool and a huge sigh of relief, those players know they have been in a game.

They have had to pull out three outstanding goals to beat this Fulham side, two of which were world class. If Fulham continue to play as they have done here today for the rest of the season they will be absolutely fine.

You can't say that you saw it coming because Fulham were so, so good defensively for the majority of this game. But that won't be of much consolation to them.

Those two goals have just turned this game completely on its head.
