Jared: Liverpool scored their winning goal after a clear foul like that last week, but an opponent has been denied against them today. Inconsistency in EPL officiating is disturbing.

Liverpool failed to record a shot on goal in a Premier League first half for the first time this season. They had five shots blocked and one wide. Will they find the net in the second half? They're showing a bit more intent going forward but Palace also look a threat.

This has been an impressive reaction by Palace after their poor performance in midweek. But will they get the job done?

Liverpool start the half strongly with Luis Diaz going close from the edge of the box.

Is Endo physical enough for the Premier League? He has energy but the same was said about Keita. It is early days though.

What has Jurgen Klopp said to his players? The Liverpool boss sprinted towards the dressing room as soon as Andy Madley blew for half-time.

Noel: Don't think Klopp will wait until the hour mark to make changes!

Liz: VAR gets the right decision... in 4 minutes? Guys. We could all see it after 2. And if the audience at home can see it, why can't you?

Nigel B: If a decision takes so long, then by its nature, how can it be defined as a clear and obvious error? Just asking.

After a sluggish start, Liverpool started quickly and dominated the ball, Palace got back into it.

They started doing the basics well which the home crowd wants to see. They won the tackles, first contacts, second balls - so very important.

The worrying question is, why did it take a Premier League referee over 3 minutes to watch an obvious foul over and over again, from every possible angle, before recognising an obvious foul?

    Cush, Bristol

Liverpool fan here, it was a foul on Endo but it was also a clear foul by Darwin for our second goal on Wednesday (at Sheffield United). Surely VAR should only be used for the actual decisions relating to penalties or goals. How far back do you go? Maybe every decision needs to be analysed and matches last 4 hours.

  11. Shut out the noise - Ten Hagpublished at 13:28 Greenwich Mean Time 9 December 2023

Man Utd v Bournemouth (15:00 GMT)

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport at Old Trafford

Amazingly, despite Manchester United seeming to be in crisis in the aftermath of last Saturday's defeat at Newcastle, Erik ten Hag won the Premier League manager of the month award and Harry Maguire took the players' honour.

It gives credence to the view Ten Hag expresses in the match programme today about ignoring the external views.

"Every single day, there is noise around this club because everyone is always watching and there is always something to say about us," he said.

"Part of the job of being here is having the ability to shut out all that noise and just listen to each other."

Not yet seeing what Graverbach brings to midfield. Harvey Elliott has been creative and sharp all season - surprised by Klopp’s selection.

    Ewan, Frome

Why did Andy Madley have to watch the foul incident 21 times before deciding it was a foul? No wonder football fans are frustrated. It was as clear a foul you get yet a top official had to watch it so many times before being convinced.

I wouldn't be surprised at all to see a change from Jurgen Klopp here. I think there's no doubt Endo has had a tough first half. They've targeted, they've jumped on, they've won the ball in good areas.

I'd expect to see [Curtis] Jones at some point in the second half.

Endo is struggling and all attacks seem to come from his inability to protect the ball and recycle quicker. Gravenberch also needs to step up.

This is utterly abysmal. I really don't know what Klopp says to our players before playing teams in the lower half of the table because it's always this performance on repeat at away games. Awful.
