Jack 18.05 and Martin 18.40 injuries aren't an excuse, it's a fact. Both sides have struggled massively lately due to injury. No ones complaining about having to "get on with it" Newcastle have started the same 11 for the last 5 games and didn't even make any subs against PSG. Injuries and tiredness are absolutely a factor and not an excuse.

This is the 12th time Son Heung-min has been involved in three goals in a single Premier League game, and the second time this season (three goals v Burnley in September). He only did so once in the entirety of last season.

Could've been five. Oliver Skipp finds himself in unfamiliar territory - free and unmarked at the back post with only the goalkeeper to beat, but Dubravka saves an unconvincing effort with his legs.

Son then has a chance for a second, but pulls his shot just wide.

Son Heung-min has scored just his second Premier League penalty, and his first since April 2021 against Southampton.

Getting tired of all these Spurs, Newcastle and Chelsea complaining of all their injuries. As an Everton fan I'd love to have their problems.

It'll sound harsh on Newcastle. They've worked hard.

Spurs have been far and away the better side.

    Son Heung-min (penalty)

Son Heung-min has a goal to go along with his two earlier assists. The penalty is in the bottom corner, Martin Dubravka goes the correct way, but the spot kick is too good and too powerful.

Son Heung-min tries to go around Martin Dubravka, only to be fouled by the Newcastle keeper.

It's getting feisty. Kieran Trippier is late and charges into Dejan Kulusevski and that's yellow as well.

  10. YELLOW CARDpublished at 79 mins

    Tottenham 3-0 Newcastle

Cristian Romero gets a booking for wiping out Callum Wilson. Romero stands on Wilson's right ankle and then makes sure by tripping him up with the other foot.

Not a great pair of challenges at all.

Yves Bissouma and Bruno Guimaraes then square up to each other. No bookings for either of those two.

Jack: Most squads have had injuries over the years, difference is they've just got on with it rather than used it as an excuse

A: Is this the first time we've had a big game and there hasn't been a VAR mention. Love it.

Any way back for Newcastle. Joelinton fires one at goal, only for it to bounce off Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and away for a corner.

Joelinton then meets the set-piece, only to nod it wide.

So nice to have Son back to his best and enjoying his football again. Fabulous player to watch.

Kyle @17:42 Please don't use the old tiredness as an excuse. You were brilliant last season, but over achieved. It's back to reality.

  15. SUBSTITUTIONSpublished at 74 mins

    Tottenham 3-0 Newcastle

Two-goal Richarlison won't be getting a hat-trick today as he is replaced by Giovani lo Celso, with Richarlison not looking too excited at coming off.

Another change for Spurs sees Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg on for Pape Matar Sarr with a couple of changes for Newcastle too as Matt Ritchie and Lewis Hall are on and Anthony Gordon and Tino Livramento are off.

If Richarlison hadn't scored the first, he'd probably not control that.

    Now he's thinking about a hat-trick.

When Spurs are on song, they are a joy to watch. Pedro Porro looks to maybe cross, but it ends up nearly embarrassing Martin Dubravka and is on the roof of the net, not in it.

Dejan Kulusevski then has a go as Spurs want even more goals. Newcastle looking fragile every time Tottenham go forward.

Injuries and luck have played a part in Spurs' recent results. They haven't ever stopped playing good football and outplay most teams, the goals didn't flow but will come. New manager, only one transfer window, the outlook is very bright, this season is such a change it was always gonna take time, genuinely believe next season they will be a force in the league.
