NFL GOAT Tom Brady at St Andrew's confirmed…. Not spotted him yet but he’ll be hoping to watch them win against Rotherham who are in the relegation zone and yet to get a victory on their travels this year.

  2. Can Millers make merry in Birmingham?published at 14:51 Greenwich Mean Time 2 December 2023

    Birmingham v Rotherham (15:00 GMT)

It's just short of 13 months since Rotherham last won an away game.

The Millers' 1-0 win at Sheffield United in November 2022 must feel like a lifetime ago for fans who have now seen their side fail to win any of their past 22 league matches on the road.

Could they end that hoodoo today?

Birmingham claimed their first win under Wayne Rooney at the sixth time of asking against bottom side Sheffield Wednesday last Saturday but fell to a 4-2 reverse at Blackburn in midweek.

The former England skipper can ill-afford for his side to slip up today against a team who have scored just four goals in their nine away games this campaign.

Don't look now, Ipswich fans, but Coventry have a good record at Portman Road too.

Intriguing one in the offing at Portman Road.

High-flying Ipswich looked out of sorts in defeat at West Brom last Saturday but bounced back in style against Millwall on Wednesday night.

Their 3-1 win made it seven straight home wins and extended their record of scoring three or more goals to an incredible eight matches infront of their own fans.

Only one winner surely? Well, Coventry might be 15th, but they come into the game after registering back-to-back wins, and clean sheets.

Last season’s beaten play-off finalists also seem to enjoy playing in Suffolk, they won on their last league meeting there in League One in March 2020, an otherwise unremarkable month, I’m sure, and also triumphed at Portman Road in the FA Cup in 2019.

The Sky Blues are also unbeaten in 13 league games away at newly-promoted teams. Unlucky for someone? We’ll know at 17:00 GMT...

Won’t be giving up my career to become a nature photographer but it’s a wintry scene in Hull.

Two upwardly mobile teams meet at the MKM Stadium with the weather more suited to Siberian tigers rather than the black and gold variety adorning the Hull City shirts.

Cautious optimism amongst both sets of fans, talking up the goal scoring exploits of Jaden Philogene and Mileta Rajovic.

The home side have urged supporters to stay warm with crumble on the concourses. Liam Rosenior will want to make sure his defence is far less flaky.

  5. In-form Hornets look to sting toothsome Tigerspublished at 14:45 Greenwich Mean Time 2 December 2023

Hull City v Watford (15:00 GMT)

Watford's start to the season would normally have been enough to see them change manager. Possibly more than once in fact.

However, they stuck with Valerien Ismael and even gave him an extended deal and they've been rewarded with a run of one defeat in their past eight.

That's seen them move up into the safe confines of midtable but a win at sixth-placed Hull today would place them right in the play-off chasing pack.

The Tigers will be no pushover though.

They're looking to secure a fourth successive home win for the first time since February 2019 and battered lowly Rotherham 4-1 on Tuesday.

  6. City aiming to give Saints boss the Blues...published at 14:41 Greenwich Mean Time 2 December 2023

    Southampton v Cardiff (15:00 GMT)

    Image caption,

Russell Martin's side have won three straight at home and are unbeaten in 10 but he wants to see his side kill off opponents in games.

Saints boss Russell Martin cut a frustrated figure at the end of Wednesday’s 1-0 win Bristol City, despite his side making it 10 games unbeaten.

Southampton's third straight Championship home win ended up being convincing in all but scoreline, a familiar feeling for Martin whose side have only led by more than one goal in a match for a total of 95 minutes across 19 games this season.

They will seek to address that profligacy when they host Cardiff, a side who have been on the up with seven points from their past three away games, conceding only one goal in the process.

The Bluebirds did lose 1-0 at home to West Brom on Tuesday but have a good record at St Mary’s. They have won on their past three visits, the last of them with a stoppage-time winner in the Premier League in February 2019.

Can Cardiff put one over on the former Swansea boss and maybe even sneak into the play-off places this evening, or can Southampton close the gap on the top two?

  7. 'Both looking to get back to promised land'published at 14:38 Greenwich Mean Time 2 December 2023

    Leeds v Middlesbrough (15:00 GMT)

    Naz Premji
    BBC Final Score

A heavyweight Championship clash with two former Premier League sides looking to get back to the promised land.

Leeds sit third in the table and will be desperate to reduce the gap between themselves and the top two. MIddlesbrough have been through a major transition since making the play-offs last season and Michael Carrick and his team look to be getting there.

A win here for them would get them closer to the top six and potentially another play-off push.

Intriguing game in store here at Elland Road.

  8. Farke looks to extend excellent Boro recordpublished at 14:36 Greenwich Mean Time 2 December 2023

    Leeds v Middlesbrough (15:00 GMT)

Leeds boss Daniel FarkeImage source, Rex Features

Leeds' excellent recent run of form has put them right in contention for a push for the top two.

They're looking to continue a streak that has seen them win four and draw one of their past five games.

Boss Daniel Farke has an even better individual record against today's opponents. In his six meetings with Middlesbrough as Norwich boss he won five and drew one and never once saw his side concede to the Teessiders.

Boro's push up the table has been stalled somewhat by two defeats in their past five but they're only three points off sixth.

A statement win today would move them closer to their goal and send a message to the rest of the division.

  9. Moving on...published at 14:34 Greenwich Mean Time 2 December 2023

Let's hope they can match that grandstand finish at The Hawthorns!

That is so criminal from West Bromwich Albion.

I can't believe what I have just seen.

You go for the winner, but you don't throw everybody forward.

I'm interested to see what Carlos Corberan says because I think he will be more disappointed than anybody.

Counter-attacking football. There's the three points!

Leicester showed confidence and guile to go and nick the winner.

    I thought they deserved it.

What a sensational finish at The Hawthorns.

    AMAZING SCENES!

West Brom go for a long throw into the box, but Jannik Vestergaard clears with a huge header.

It helps set Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall free on the counter attack.

He keeps his cool as goalkeeper Alex Palmer comes of his line and shifts a pass for Harry Winks to bury the ball into an empty net.

What a way to score your first goal for the club.

Josh Maja may have just rescued a huge point against a Leicester side that looked to be coasting to victory.

It's worth a reminded that Leicester allowed Sheffield Wednesday a late goal in their draw just a few days earlier.

There were so many bodies in there.

Josh Maja has got that final ball and has put it into the net.

Once again, you will say it is a good substitution by West Brom manager Carlos Corberan.

He will want to take credit.

A long throw causes a world of trouble for Leicester in the area.

The initial ball is in cleared to the edge of the area, worked back into the box and it bobbles into Josh Maja's path to bundle home his first Baggies goal.
