  1. CLOSE!published at 14:13 Greenwich Mean Time 10 December 2023

    Brighton 0-0 Leicester

The first real chance of the game and it goes to Leicester

A wonderful passing move down the left hand side ends in a whipped cross into the box from Janice Cayman, but top scorer Lena Petermann sends her header about a foot wide of the near post.

    Liverpool 0-0 Bristol City

    Ooh. That was close.

Shanice van de Sanden puts Olivia Clark under a lot of pressure as she attempts to kick the ball long and the Liverpool forward only narrowly misses snatching it from her feet.

  3. Postpublished at 14:13 Greenwich Mean Time 10 December 2023

    Arsenal 4-1 Chelsea

Chelsea trying to build an attack, passing the ball around the edge of the area but it's cut out by Arsenal.

The visitors just can't get in this.

  4. Postpublished at 14:11 Greenwich Mean Time 10 December 2023

    Liverpool 0-0 Bristol City

    There's history in this fixture.

Both times Liverpool won the Women's Super League they did so by beating Bristol City.

When they clinched promotion back to the top flight at the end of the 2021-22 season that was also confirmed with a win over Bristol City too.

"Emma Hayes, what's the score?" is the chant from Arsenal fans.

    Ouch.

  7. Postpublished at 14:11 Greenwich Mean Time 10 December 2023

    Brighton 0-0 Leicester

    No harm doing.

A Leicester head gets to the first ball into the box, and some calm interplay between Josie Green and Sophie Howard disperses the Brighton pressure around the penalty area.

  8. Postpublished at 14:10 Greenwich Mean Time 10 December 2023

    Arsenal 4-1 Chelsea

Katie McCabe gives the ball away in the middle of the park but she quickly recovers the ground to shut down Ashley Lawrence, fighting for the ball right into the corner.

    Brilliant defending.

    Brighton 0-0 Leicester

The first corner of the game is won by Brighton after a bright break dwon the right hand side.

  10. Postpublished at 14:09 Greenwich Mean Time 10 December 2023

    Brighton 0-0 Leicester

It's been a bit of a nervy start for the visitors Leicester.

Plenty of their signature attacking intent but they've been so lackadaisical in possession so far, particularly at the back.

Can hardly afford to play that way against one of the most efficient goalscoring sides in the league.

  11. Postpublished at 14:08 Greenwich Mean Time 10 December 2023

    Liverpool 0-0 Bristol City

The hosts are growing into the game.

Ceri Holland tries to slot through Shanice van de Sanden on the edge of the six-yard box but the latter can't reach the ball before Bristol City goalkeeper Olivia Clark gets to it.

  12. 'Huge composure from Russo'published at 14:08 Greenwich Mean Time 10 December 2023

    Arsenal 4-1 Chelsea

    Gilly Flaherty
Former Chelsea and England defender on BBC Two

Jess Carter is there but Ann-Katrin Berger has committed too. Berger is adamant it is not a penalty.

Why has Berger come out? Carter is there, let her defend the ball it is so unnecessary.

Huge composure from Alessia Russo to score the penalty and it is a big moment for her to take that responsibility on.

  13. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 14:08 Greenwich Mean Time 10 December 2023

    Arsenal 4-1 Chelsea

Well that marks Alessia Russo's last kick of the game and she makes way for Stina Blackstenius. Steph Catley is also coming on for Noelle Maritz and off comes Beth Mead for Chloe Lacasse.

Emma Hayes opts to hook off Lauren James, too for Mia Fishel. I think that's wise after that silly incident earlier.

  14. Postpublished at 14:07 Greenwich Mean Time 10 December 2023

    Brighton 0-0 Leicester

    Oof!

What looked like a casual spell of possession across the Leicester back line nearly ends up in an own goal!

A wayward pass from Sophie Howard is recovered just before the ball rolls in off the post.

    Alessia Russo (pen, 74 mins)

    Cool as you like.

A superb, powerful penalty slotted into the bottom left corner by Alessia Russo and Ann-Katrin Berger can't get near it. She went the right way but it was too far into the corner.

  16. Postpublished at 14:06 Greenwich Mean Time 10 December 2023

    Liverpool 0-0 Bristol City

Liverpool look so dangerous when they go forwards through Shanice van de Sanden.

The Netherlands international charges down down Bristol City back line, cuts inside and tries to get a shot away but her effort is blocked.

  17. Postpublished at 14:05 Greenwich Mean Time 10 December 2023

    Arsenal 3-1 Chelsea

Now then, with Kim Little off the pitch Alessia Russo steps up to the spot.

A chance to put her side out of sight.

  18. Postpublished at 14:05 Greenwich Mean Time 10 December 2023

    Arsenal 3-1 Chelsea

    Emma Sanders
    BBC Sport at Emirates Stadium

Lauren James is a lucky woman.

She's clearly frustrated with the game and that was a lash out on Lia Walti which could have easily been given as a red card on another day.

Emma Hayes knew it too and immediately turned to the bench to tell Mia Fishel to get ready. James' head has gone.

  19. PENALTY - Arsenalpublished at 14:05 Greenwich Mean Time 10 December 2023

    Arsenal 3-1 Chelsea

Alessia Russo is in behind again and Jess Carter looks like she has dealt with it but Ann-Katrin Berger has flown out to meet the ball.

    Penalty!

  20. Postpublished at 14:04 Greenwich Mean Time 10 December 2023

    Liverpool 0-0 Bristol City

Abi Harrison spots a gap in the Liverpool defence and drills a pass towards former Liverpool striker Amalie Thestrup, but her delivery is too powerful and Teagan Micah is able to run out and collect.
