I think it is a coincidence that today Manchester City produce four enormous flags that have pictures on them of the four trophies they won last season.
There has been a strong police presence and that's because of the recent history of some nastiness between the supporters.

Manchester City can equal the longest competitive home winning streak by an English top flight club: 24 by Sunderland from 1890 to 1892 (includes one replayed game).

This City team is physical. Whenever De Bruyne is back, I think it will change the dynamics of how this Man City team plays. If Liverpool win today I think it will be one of the best seasons because with Arsenal I am intrigued to see how they evolve too. I think Liverpool are going to go for it today.

I have always felt that the best partnerships on the pitch are when it just happens naturally. I don't think Nunez is going to change that much. One week we will be saying 'that is an unbelievable goal' and the other we'll be saying 'how did he miss that?' But the consistent thing is his pace.
It works for them and the understand their strengths.

The Liverpool bench looks much stronger that the Man City bench. Could that be decisive in Liverpool's favour.

If you look at the way that Liverpool have evolved this season and the way that Alexander-Arnold comes inside, and then pushes right when the ball is over his side.
I think that variation gives them a lot of options going forward. And then it's about Salah - Mr consistent.
Man City v Liverpool (12:30 GMT)
City have won their past 23 home games and one more would equal the record for consecutive wins by an English top-flight club, set by Sunderland between December 1890 and April 1892.
Liverpool have won just one of their past 14 Premier League trips to City (D5 L8) - a 4-1 victory in Klopp's first visit to Etihad Stadium in November 2015.
"Is a tough one, it's the strongest team in the world for the last few years," said Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp.
"Our record [at the Etihad] is not great you will tell me. They are extremely strong, nothing I can say makes them weaker, otherwise I would say it on repeat. Last year is just a memory."

Well. Someone's brought a plush-toy of Erling Haaland with them in the crowd at the Etihad.
It's a bit terrifying.

Jeremy Doku is a difference, he gives you something different. He in unplayable at times.
Imagine when he gets better as well?

Former Brighton striker on BBC Radio 5 Live
I would expect Pep Guardiola to start with Jeremy Doku because of his directness. He'll just run at Trent Alexander-Arnold time and time again and that is exactly what the Liverpool right-back won't want.
It is a little bit like Raheem Sterling against Kyle Walker in the last game. It was the first time in a long time I've seen Walker had a difficult day. Doku can do the same to Alexander-Arnold.
Doku is very different to most of the players that Guardiola has had at Man City. Guardiola changed his ways a little last season with Erling Haaland and he's done it again with Doku.
Players like Doku are the reason that I watch football. It is pure entertainment. He picks the ball up and has no other thought than to go at his man and create something, that gets you on the edge of your seat. He's added another bow to Manchester City's attack.
Man City v Liverpool (12:30 GMT)
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola insists the club will defend itself against the 115 Premier League charges it faces.
He says the point deduction Everton have received is not comparable because the two cases are "completely different."

I suspect Liverpool will go at City, especially after watching their game against Chelsea [that finished 4-4] the other week. That game will go down as an icon game.
If you ask questions of City they can look a little vulnerable at times. I think that is just because they are not used to defending that much because they always have the ball but sometimes you can catch them cold and off guard.
Mohamed Salah will run in behind and be a nuisance. If Darwin Nunez plays as well it will just ask a different question of City and it could be set up to be another great game between the two.
Man City v Liverpool (12:30 GMT)
Manchester City have dominated the Premier League under Pep Guardiola and despite Liverpool causing problems, they have had to go through a transition to catch up again.
A Liverpool win today would take them back to the top of the table for the first time since May 2022.
"It is not a test [on] how close can we get to City, it is just a super exciting football game," said Jurgen Klopp.
"But for us it is not about being excited, we have to prepare it properly and we know we have to be at our best to get a chance.
"Then it is about us to take it."
Man City v Liverpool (12:30 GMT)
Jurgen Klopp says Liverpool must make Manchester City feel "uncomfortable" if they are to come out on top.
Klopp's second-placed team are just a point behind leaders City before the game at Etihad Stadium.
Man City v Liverpool (12:30 GMT)
Manchester City are one point clear of Liverpool and Arsenal at the top of the table going into today's match.
Tottenham and Aston Villa are also within three points of the leaders.
But this is the first time City have topped the Premier League table after 12 games since 2018-19.
Their 28 points after 12 games is similar or better to the past three seasons, when they have also won the league (20 points in 2020-21, 26 in 2021-22 and 29 last season).

There will be moments in the game where Trent Alexander-Arnold can play the hybrid role in midfield, but there will be moments where he needs to take his medicine and get back in the right-back slot and protect.
I don't think Liverpool can sit in and contain Manchester City, I just don't think they can do it. Their best kind of defence is attack, we've seen it before and the Liverpool fans will be hoping we can see it again.

Liverpool
More from Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, speaking to Sky Sports: "I don’t know if it’s a rivalry or not. It’s a super special game. When you are young, you dream of being part if these kind of games. If you don’t watch this game, what do you want to do?
"I understand [the magnitude of the game]. We have to be there. We have to make sure the special things don’t overrule the normal things we have to do.
"It’s very early in our development with this group. For us, it's a start. The goals we've scored [against City] in the past were real team goals, with nearly a minute in possession.
"City have obviously changed slightly. Last season in the build-up it was a bit more compact. They dominate the ball with 60 or 70% possession or whatever. In our moments, we have to play as well."
Man City v Liverpool (12:30 GMT)
Former Liverpool midfielder Ray Houghton talks about the threats that Jurgen Klopp's side can pose and how he thinks the game will be won in midfield today.
